Yep, 140. The torque is based on the fastener size, these lugs are the same size on GM full size trucks!

It needs to be the lead sled is as heavy as a truck.

90s B and D body (Caprice/Fleetwood) were heavier, and got M12x1.5. Same as little Hyundais... lol

140 is a crazy number. When I first started changing my CTS tires I was incredulous as well.

Remember this is "DRY" torque, do not put any grease or anti seize on the threads as that will put excessive load on the studs.

Thanks again.. I'm going to be doing brakes/rotors in the near future and wanted to have the correct torque specs.
Another question.. does anyone know if there are torque specs for the caliper bolts and for the bracket that holds the caliper?
I'm not finding anything...

I noticed the chart you put up in #11 with the torque specs has changed to something else.
I'm glad I copied it and surprised it changed to something irrelevant to this topic.
BTW, I also added the CTS to the Alldatadiy subscription I have for my Eldo so I'm good to go.

Exactly why I told you to get on it immediately. This has happened before. Glad you got it in time. Unfortunately no one will be able to use it in the future.

Hi Tinman,

Thanks again for the torque specs.
I did a complete brake job all around and everything torqued nicely.
I went with the Raybestos Coated rotors and their Hybrid pads.. brakes are nice and smooth and stop the car on a dime if needed.
It definitely needed it.. everything was original most of the pads were frozen in the clips..

OK just be aware that some aftermarket lug nots and/or locks may not be able to take 140 lb-ft. Best to ask the mfr.
