The OP asked the same question up in "STS".

I have the $5/5 VIN subscription to CompNine and you're not getting one of the remaining 3.

Please write down all the codes on your RPO sticker then Google "cadillac sts 2008 rpo code list" and decipher your own build sheet.

Welcome Aboard !!!:welcome:

I just figured if somebody had an unlimited subscription they could run the report for me so I wouldn't have to pay the fee. I also didn't know that you didn't have to run all 5 VIN numbers at the same time. I previously owned a Ford Mustang and was part of that online community and the people were much more friendlier and helpful. I don't appreciate the rude comments

I mean, they could.

I could run it too - I work for a GM dealer. Looking at it as I type this. Your car started life as a rental, but that's not really a detriment at this point.

But people who join a community just to get free stuff.... not exactly a good start.

I'm only asking about the compnine report as I may have other features that I'm unaware of. I tried with Cadillac and they were not able to help me. That's why I came to the Forum it's my only issue right now and I'm trying to get to know my car better. I know it may not look the greatest but it was the only concern I have right now. I only got an auto check with this car I did not get a Carfax but I do know that it was a rental early in its life. I really appreciate any help that anybody could give me and I'm not looking to offend anybody.

Stingroo I think we got off to a bad start. I'm sorry for coming across this way but my dealer and Cadillac customer service were unable to obtain this information for me. I just figured maybe somebody could help me out. I just purchased this car and I really don't know anything about it I'm trying to learn about it. My next project is replacing the reverse lights as they have small cracks in them. I don't understand why you would run the report and then wave it in my face but not provide it if you already went through the effort. I live on a limited income and every penny counts that's why I didn't want to pay to run the report. I came here for help and I'm not trying to be rude. I figured if somebody could help me they would.

I don't mean to be rude either, but if you're on a limited income and every penny counts, an old Cadillac was probably the wrong choice of car. They can be very expensive to keep up. You'll be buying parts and paying for service on a $60,000 car regardless of what you paid for it.

I know what you're saying. I'm trying to get into the Real Estate Field and I needed a vehicle that was large enough to carry people and reliable in my old car was a two-door convertible that wasn't going to work for what I needed. I am hoping that I don't have a lot of issues or at least be earning more by then. Thank you for the welcome to the forum

Doesn't make sense on how a GM dealership couldn't help you with a build sheet. It's a very simple print out that the service department can do. If you went to the sales, then they probably don't know jack on how to get that sheet. Heck, they probably didn't know that the service department takes care of that. That's where I got mine and it was free.

The build sheet - and subsequent repair history - used to be contained in a GM system named VIS - ?? Vehicle Information System ?? - that has been replaced with another database. The morning I picked up my car in 11/05 I went to the service writer who logged in and printed the whole enchilada for me.

CARFAX is a voluntary reporting system so it's usually nowhere near complete for real service info. CompNine gives you the basic car info as well as the printout of your RPO list.
