Gelntleman, I was going to work this morning and I happened upon a brand new beautiful CLS 55. He realized that I was not in an ordinary CTS so he began taking off. The V did very, very well up to about 120 mph but it was not quite up to the power reserve in the Benz. I am not a real Benz fan but "WOW" is that car sweet!! How much HP and TQ does that thing have?? I am guessing the CLS costs quite a bit of change.

Around $90000, I believe.

To my suprise, ive seen alot of those around here all the time. I didnt know that those made that much power.
You saw a bunch of CLS55s? I doubt that, I bet you just saw the regular CLS which in no way even competes with the 55. Dont get me wrong, I saw a regular CLS the other day and almost wet my pants. Great looking car.

There's a guy who just traded his F355 for a CLS55 AMG about 2 blocks from me. I always thought they were ugly, like someone had taken an E-class, held both ends, and pulled each way as far as they could. But now that I see his, they're actually pretty nice. Only thing is, he would rather drive a stupid nissan frontier than his MB.

I have had the same experience here in DC. Virtually every CLS that I see in this area is an AMG, and I've seen a bunch of them. Its definitely a cool looking car but the rear visibility and head room is not very practical.

The AMG facility must be working 24/7 these days to fill its engine building requirement.

There are a few new CLS55s around here, funny thing is I only see old ladies driving them. Heck of a way to pick up the grandchildren!

Visually the car is fantastic!! I really was not a fan of the CLS until I had seen it up close. If they are 90-100K there are a lot of options at that point, M6???

BTW-I took the V in for some repair issues. The oil temp keeps going UP and UP and the rear end is begining to whine. Let's see what they come up with. They gave me an 05 Deville to drive around. Not a bad car especially the A/C seats, blows cold air right through my shorts.

I have my CLS up for sale if anyone wants a really good deal.

That's an Acura CL-S though...

Good to hear that the V was hanging with it up to 120. It should be identical to an E55 in terms of straight line speed, and we know how fast that car is.

I guess I'm in the minority that feels the car is poorly proportioned, and I think the E55 is the better looking car. I know a few people that test drove the CLS and they said it's a pain to get in and out of the car, especially the back seats (watch your head).

I like red. It's faster.

If GM puts the LS2 in the CTS-V, that might help close the gap a little bit.
What?? How will that help close the gap a little bit? Only thing that would help close the gap is a supercharged LS2/LS6 or the LS7...
