My Mama's starter has gone out and her car has the northstar engine..I already know that it is the one where the starter is located beneath the intake manifold.
I know absolutely nothing about how a car engine or any parts of it operate BUT I am very strong for a girl and also meticulous when following instructions. So, since my mama cannot afford the prices shown to replace her starter here are my questions:
1. If I attempt to replace this starter myself and end up not being able to do it, is there anything I can really screw up so badly it would cost her more in the long run or screw it up so bad it cannot be fixed?
2. If after reading yalls opinions I do attempt to do this myself (I really want to do this to help her out) are there any little tips and tricks you know of that might not be mentioned in a repair manual?
Thank you in advance for your time =)
