Anybody know a good source for some (cheaper) whitewall tires? I can't find any on tire-rack.com. I really like the Kelly Navigator Gold Series, but being a college kid with a movie-theater pay budget, I can't really afford them. They would be for the '84 DeVille. I'm not sure, but the tires on it may be origional. They aren't bald, but are starting to get down there. I was wondering if anybody has had good luck with these:http://www.walmart.com/catalog/deta...0.jpg&product_id=1819187&iIndex=1&isVariant=false&corpCard=false&type=undefined

Yes, I know they are a wally world special, but people say they are a decent tire. Middle of the road reviews.
My old whitewalls will go on my '90 Brougham 'till I can get new ones (the fronts on there now are BAAAALD). Any tire input is greatly appreciated.

Anybody have any first hand knowledge if Runway Enduro tires are still available? I did a little looking recently, but haven't seen any. They seem to run in streaks-they make them for awhile, then stop. I have them on my Roady wagon and 93 Fleetwood, and love them. I always keep 1-2 spare ones around just in case they stop production for good.

Runway Enduro seems to be hard to find. Check eBay for "Suretrac" wide whitewall which is currently available in 215/75-15 and 235/75-15 sizes in the desirable wider whitewall. A good friend of mine had very good luck with them - they stayed bright and white and looked right. :)

My last new set of Runway Enduro whitewall tires purchased a year ago for my '82 Electra were hard to keep white in the Florida climate as are a recent set of "A Plus" brand wide whitewall tires I purchased last summer for my '78 Olds Regency.

I have a five year old set of conventional width whitewall Kuhmo KR21 tires on my 79 Cadillac which have performed great, I am considering trying the Suretrac tires, and perhaps getting a second set to save for the future for this car or other cars that my addiction is likely to force me to acquire. :)

Anyone ever heard of this brand, Vitour:Galaxy R1? I found them on simpletire.com trying to find some runway's but they don't seem to have the size I want anymore.
I know of a shop online/in cali that can vulcanize any size stripe I want on pretty much any size tire but its about $450 a set shipped to md, these are about 100 bucks less.

Very glad I was able to help some of y'all find some good tires! That Fleetwood looks great! About the comparison between these and enduros/champiros. It's a similar kind of tire... Chinese, affordable, and with a better whitewall than you'll find for less than $150 per tire. I'm a big fan of both. I've had two sets of enduros, one set of champiros, and one set of lanvigators. All have surprisingly good grip. The Lanvigator whitewall is spaced farther from the rim. About 1-1/8" the whitewall on the enduro/champiros is more like 7/8" from the rim. It's closer than the original which was right at 1" from the rim. And since the whitewalls on both are 1-1/8", rather than the full 1.3", the extra spacing out from the rim really helps with the balance of the overall appearance. I'd recommend Lanvigators because of this. And the whitewalls turn brown less easily.

Finally got the Lanvigators installed. One of the guys at the tire shop asked "where did you find tires with a whitewall stripe?!"

My favorite question, though: When I checked in at the front desk, the guy there says: "I see the tires you brought have a sidewall stripe. Do you want those installed facing in or out?"
Seriously?!!

A shot before reinstalling the wheelcovers. The black wheels give an even greater contrast for the stripes.

20mm width difference is not a big deal. Its just cosmetic to a particular eye. Definately not a structural thing, because the lowriders put 175/70/14s and even 155/80/13s on all cadillacs 70s 80s and 90s and even hop them many feet in the air and drive on the interstate the same day, I know from experience too and the tires last. So, the slightly narrower tire is only a cosmetic issue and will throw off your gauges slightly.
