I was finally able to get my hands on a couple of good shots of the 2013 20" Optional wheels.

I love the looks of both of them ... however, I am still leaning towards the polished rims a bit more than the chrome rims.

Sooooo what are your thoughts on either wheel?

Hmm ... yes the black SRX does look really sharp with those chrome rims too! :D

There are other polished wheel photos if you want to do a Google image search on the Internet ... although I haven't seen any of the new SRX chrome wheels on the Internet.

Marc,
If I were ordering a 2013 with the optional wheels, I would order the wheels in the second photo. (Chrome Wheels) I think they look better. The wheels in the first photo look too much like the wheels on the 2010-2012 models. The chrome wheels will let everyone know that this is a 2013. (Stand out from the rest of the older models.)

What can you tell me about the new LED chrome side vents? Is only the light bulb being changed to an LED? or did they add LEDs to the black vent area behind the chrome? (That would look good.)
Thanks Ken
They both look great ... but for some reason I tend to like the polished wheel look a little bit more because those wheels look more like an SUV wheel vs the chrome ones which to me looks more like a car wheel with those thinner spokes ... but I will reserve my final decision until I actually seem them in person and in motion on the SRX. :)

As far as the LED side vents go they are a thin vertical LED bar and the side maker light is not needed anymore because I believe that the side view mirror will incorporate a small amber turn indicator light.

I blew up this image to try and make the LED lights show up better.

I much prefer the 1st 1. More classy IMO. The 2nd would be harder to keep clean for sure, and I feel they look more car like. I personally wouldn't be concerned about looking like a '12 based on the wheels. The entire vehicle, including how you keep it, will make it speak for itself.
I tend to agree with you ... the polished rims really "sparkle" in the light and especially when they are in motion too! Yes the 2nd wheel will take a bit more extra care in keeping them clean. What I find to be a bit of a chore is every time you wash your vehicle you have to spend extra time wiping down chrome wheels for all the water spots tend to show up way more on chrome than they do on polished aluminum wheels.

Either way it is refreshing to have a different choice of new wheels. There is even a 3rd after market option too. Love to see that photo if anyone has it please post it for all of us to see it.

MarcNY...

You can't go wrong with either wheel IMO!!! I like both of them. What color did you order? Can't wait to see the 13 SRX all tricked out. I am sure interested in one. My 2010 only has 11000 miles, but that makes for a good trade in value...Good luck with what ever wheel you get!!!

I had wanted to order the Silver Coast color but I was told it is on constraint at the moment.

Although, I did hear yesterday from the dealer that you can order the Silver Coast in the XTS model now. If I can't get that color real soon I might just go back to the Grey Flannel I had back in 2010.
the second photo definately
i would like to see a photo of third wheel with the black center they are more expensive View attachment 96139
I would love to see the third wheel option also. :)

Marc NY...

I guess the Silver Coast color replaced the Gold Mist Metallic...I have Gold Mist Metallic with shale/browstone interior, like the combo real well. I think you can get Silver Coast with the shale/brownstone interior..The 2nd set of wheels is getting alot of attention...

The second wheels look nearly identical to ctsv rims.
Yes I thought the same thing myself...
Oh yea, I can't wait till I get that second set of rims! :D
Hmm they are starting to grow on me a little more each time I see them. :)

BTW: I was asked if I had any pics of the 2013 SRX in a Silver Coast color, unfortunately I don't have a picture of a SRX in that color just yet so I figured I would share that same color in the XTS with you anyways.

I think it does look like a pretty color indeed... I would still like to see it in person though... :cool2:

MARC, The wheels in both pix look great, but based on the (2) pictures, I prefer the chrome wheels in the second picture; I haven't been a fan of chrome wheels, but I'm getting "hooked". I've got Chrome Tech wheels on my 2012 Radiant Silver AWD Performance.
Will the pictured chrome wheels replace the Chrome Tech wheels, or are they a new addition?

According to my dealer contact the first OP picture is the following wheel and not the new RTU polished aluminum wheel coming out. According to them the polished aluminum is as sharp as the new chrome tech wheels with a slight dullness due to the clear coating involved.

RV1

Wheels, 18" x 8" (45.7 cm x 20.3 cm) bright machined finish aluminum

EDIT: Posted the wrong picture. Sorry about that. Need to correct the picture once I get it sorted out. Currently removing it. Can anyone confirm what I am being told?

It all depends on how you like the look of polished aluminum vs chrome ... both look great IMO.

*I believe the dullness you are referring to is due more to the "level" of polish the aluminum wheel gets rather than the clear coating the rim gets. If a wheel is "highly" polished it can closely resemble the look of chrome even when it is viewed from a short distance away.

Here are a couple of blown up photos that show more of the polished 20" optional SRX wheel.

**They don't appear to me to be the "highly" polished version but still a very sharp looking wheel indeed! :bling:

To me, the set on the black SRX are very similar to the stock wheels on the 2010-2012 base and luxury models. If I was going to shell out what Cadillac wants for the optional wheels, I'd pick something the doesn't look so similar to thousands of SRX's running around the country. By the way, I had the 18" wheels on my SRX chromed, so I do like the look of the stock 18" wheel. My 2 cents.

Here is a close up of the wheel...Also please be aware that these are not new for 2013, as far as I know. I had them dealer installed when we purchased my wife's new SRX at the end of July. They are genuine GM SRX accessory wheels. There is a chrome wheel (like ours) and a midnight silver polished version.

As these are 20", did you have to purchase new larger tires with the wheels?

I much prefer the look of the wheels in the 1st photo (polished rims). Those rims look correct/classy for the SRX, and the shine/bling factor is just right (not overdone). The chrome wheels in the 2nd photo seem more suited for a car (such as the CTS-V) and provide over-the-top bling, IMO. My 2002 Olds Aurora 4.0 had chrome aluminum wheels! (that was more than 10 years ago). Polished aluminum wheels are what is current and what look best. You will not see chrome wheels on high-end European or Japanese brands.
