Remote control door lock receiver location

Hi!! My key fob has been working intermittently over the last few weeks. As of this week, I can't start my car at all unless the fob is in the little slot. I thought the battery died and had it replaced and still not working. I did a quick search on here and found maybe the fob was no longer in sync with my car so I tried the lock and unlock button trick... STILL NOTHING!! I went to a locksmith to have them reprogram my fob and they said they couldn't do it with the existing fob that I would have to get a new one. I came back to this forum one last time and saw another suggestion that my Remote Control Door Lock Receiver may have gone bad. One person said the RCDLR also controls the antennae and tire pressure sensor. Nothing else is wonky in my car so I don't know if that could still be my issue; radio and XM work and no warning on the tire pressure sensors.

Can anyone tell me where it is located on a 2014 SRX to see if that could still be the issue? Or does anyone else have any further advice of what it could be if not that?

Thank you!

Try another battery first, those off-name cheapo coin batteries are notoriously bad or if you've had a pack sitting a while until finally using now. They're not like the 10 year storage AA batteries, those coins go funny. Get a fresh good brand and try again. Just this AM another owner posted they changed battery and was not working, tried a fresh new and worked just fine.

Max,

I have put 2 new batteries from Auto Zone or Advanced Auto in AND the locksmith I went to put one in as well. Then he put it up next to this sensor testing thing and it didn't light up. What I am not understanding is how is my car still starting if it's a bad fob?

Well sounds like it's not the fob battery, but just a few days ago I realized a new battery that tested good for volts was actually no good. BTW you can get a good replacment fob off of Amazon for about $25. The car will program it for you. All you have to do is follow the simple procedure in your owner's manual. Here's a link for you: Amazon.com: ECCPP Keyless Entry Remote Key Fob Replacement for Cadillac ATS for ELR for SRX for XTS 2010-2015 FCC:NBG009768T Keyless Entry Remote : Automotive

I have same issue I bought have bought s3veral different key fobs from Amazon ebay as well as other key locksmith sites all do the same. Doors do not lock or unlock trunk opens if I move keyfob around too much have to use fob holder in console to get it to start. Then when I lock doors I use key yo open and quickly try to start it before alarm goes off I was trying to save money like you so after buying several keyfobs with no luck I decided to buy a $400 OBDII bi directional programmer as well as a eeprom programming tool. I'm hell bent on getting a key made without going to a dealership. Trust me it would have been easier and cheaper at this point to have them make key instead. Hope this helps unless your stubborn like me.
