If your engine is cursing, then it's mad and won't drop to V4 - it will use all its power to vent its rage. But upon cruising at reasonable speed V4 should kick in. Very high speed, headwinds, etc may necessitate V6 operation at all times. A family member's XT5 with the same engine tends to drop to V4 only in the city when cruising at below about 80-90kph. Will also depend on battery state of charge and if alternator is drawing power for charging etc.

Well of course I did not mean cursing 🙂. My xt6 does not switch down to V4 when cruising on the highway even when going down a slope with clearly no need for V6, no wind etc
Thinking about bringing it up with the dealer on next oil change. Thanks

 

Got the xt6 2020 Sports trim couple of weeks ago in Toronto.
Is it supposed to switch down to V4 while cursing?
Mine stick to V6, I tried fwd as well, even when cruising on highway with ko need for V6.
