Those are the worse, but if it happens again give OnStar a call. They will scan it right then and there, let you know what the issue is and will send you an email summary of what the code is.

Of course, we go to scan the CEL today and it was gone. hahahah! No history of any codes or faults. CLEAR!

That's strange... Usually if you get a code that sets a check engine light, even if the issue clears and the CEL goes away, the history code will remain for quite a few power cycles.

That sounds like a good plan, and you can also try plugging in by USB cable for Android Auto; then you won't have the Bluetooth connection as the bottleneck in the streaming quality pipeline. I got the Motorola MA-1 wireless Android Auto connector - it uses wifi to connect, thus providing a greater bandwidth for less compression than Bluetooth. I'm also trying Tidal streaming service for higher quality source material.

From Tom's guide: "The MA1 uses a mix of Bluetooth and 5GHz Wi-Fi to connect to your phone, the same protocols as any other built-in wireless Android Auto setup. This means your phone registers the connection the same way, so you’ll need a compatible device — one that supports 5GHz Wi-Fi and runs Android 11 or newer. "
The newer bluetooth protocols are not bad but connecting directly will always be better as to sound quality. I tried different methods early on when I got the car including CarPlay which has to be connected directly since there was no wireless option for the CT6. But in the end, connecting a USB drive and letting CUE play my Apple Lossless tracks directly proved to be the best quality so that is what I use. Anyone going the USB route should only use an SSD if you have numerous tracks over something like 8,000 or up. The USB sticks are too slow for large numbers of files due to the CUE indexing process.

Great advice - thank you! One of my next projects is getting some great content to test out. My current play list on my phone has a little bit of everything.

All,

We scanned the code and it was for a solenoid for the V4 fuel saver feature (deactivating the cylinders). It came on for a day and has been off since. So... we wait!

QUESTION: Has anyone experienced an issue with warped rotors and "wobble" under braking after a few hard stops? I passed a few people in succession and went from around 85-90 to 40-50 in between cars (I promise I was not being reckless). After that, I picked up a very pronounced brake wobble.

I was surprised by the result because I didn't think I pushed it that hard. The car has 60k miles, so I am unsure if it has the stock pads (or rotors, for that matter). I have ordered some new ones (which I planned to do anyway), but I hope this issue will not repeat itself.

I have not noticed any, but when I had the Porterfield pads put on my car at 14k (while the wheels were being replaced under warranty for peeling), the dealer said the rear rotors were out of spec and I had them replaced with new.

Haven't had the wobble feel and I've driven in the same manner as you have. I am starting to get a slight squeal from the passenger side, so curious if how low the pads are. Not sure if the brakes have every been changed, so probably due and I get to foot the bill :poop:

Hello All,

A new issue popped up recently - a crunching from the front end when going over bumps/dips. Sounds like a rubber or plastic piece is broken/worn, maybe top hats on the shock tower? Anyone have something like this happen before?

Appreciated!

All - I have not been on this forum in a while. I recently purchased a new 2024 CT5-V Blackwing and thought about providing a comparison between the CT6-V (the original Blackwing) and CT5-V Blackwing. Let me know if there is any interest. There can't be many people that own both cars at once, and I thought my daily experiences might be useful!

FYI - I am both CornerMan and Ericcarver1 in this thread. I established one of the accounts back in the day when I was seeking advice on my 1985 Fleetwood.

I don't login often and the browser credentials may be inconsistent. Anyway, same person.

I'm interested. I keep thinking I'd like a CT5-V Blackwing, and then I sit in one and I'm reminded how small they are. :-(

I am also interested in a CT5 but compaired to the CT6 they are small. I did not realize how small until I saw
one up close. I even thought about trading in my 19 CT6-V for a CT5-V Blackwing but I just could not bring
myself to part with mine !
