Funny they have a million photos, but I didn't see in the ad where they mentioned SuperCruise or the Rear Seat Entertainment package.

Lot of good info in the comments; I wonder if the production number breakdown was correct, and if so, where they got the info? Same profile mentioned having the LSD added by the dealer; was that you? Whoever it is failed to mention Track mode with the 95% / 5% torque split as a difference between the Platinum and the V. Makes bringing the rear end around much easier.

 

I did forget the track mode. Supercruise and rear seat is standard on platinum, as is everything except 20 inch wheels and dealer add-ons like the wing on this car.

The production number of 1009 for the V was in an article a few years back. The 466 I got from just subtracting from the 1475 widely reported production number but given that we know 3 premium luxury were built its probably wrong.

 

Good points. I also wonder about cars like mine and a few other members, which were built as GM Media cars (or even that one listed for sale that was a Central Office car). Given that GM initially announced 275 CT6-Vs, and then (due to demand?) followed up with another 600, and then promised 600 more for 2020, we all go with the 1,475 number. But my media car (and several others that made the Auto Show circuits in the winter of 2018) were built before the 275 that the initial owners got. Are they extras (along with the at least 3 Premium Luxury cars)?

I also test drove one of the three cars for sale at a Detroit-area used car lot that came from GM; all were durability test cars with ~20,000 miles on them and no factory warranty included. I wonder which number they were included with, if any? (One of those, btw, was a gorgeous Satin Steel Metallic V with Dark Auburn... if it had had the Driver Assist package, I'd probably be driving that one - warranty or no warranty.)

I'm sure someone somewhere in GM can run the numbers from the Hamtramck plant and discern how many Blackwing-equipped cars made it out the door, but we may never see that information. :-(

Wow, Good find. GM must have just sold its fleet of executive cars.

Its really surprising how they are holding their value. I thought for sure the platinum would be terrible for depreciating compared to the V, especially due to the fact many people don't even know they exist.

 

I would love to get a 2020 Platinum. To me, it's what I wish the Sport trim would have been. Blackwing engine, but not tuned to the level of the V and feature rich. I would change the grill to the black mesh, add the lower body trim, and black out the chrome around the car to give it the sport look.

 

As much as I am not crazy about the redesigned front and rear fascias; joystick shifter; and rotary controls, I could make the sacrifice for that Blackwing 4.2TT; 10-speed transmission; Super Cruise; HD rearview mirror and surround cameras; upgraded park assist; and wireless CarPlay. However, it would need the ground effects installed, 20” wheels swapped-out for the 19”, and to be repainted Radiant Metallic Silver.

 

CarPlay is wired for 2020 unless you get an adapter.

 

I guess I could make a sacrifice for a Ferrari, manual transmission, with supercruise, OnStar, all-wheel drive and all-wheel steering, park assist, and Android auto. However, it would have to have a Liberty Walk body kit and be repainted plum crazy purple.
