Nappa leather vs Inteluxe seats

I noticed that the inteluxe seats are very firm and not soft and plush. Does anyone know if the nappa leather seats are more comfortable than the inteluxe seats? It seems that the nappa seats have more quilting and softer padding than the inteluxe.

I have noticed that many reviewers state the the Lyriq seats are lumpy. I have the leather. The key is the adjustment of the lumber support which can be adjusted in four directions, in and out, up and down. If you have it set up incorrectly for your back, then the seats are very uncomfortable, and end up lumpy as these reviewers call it. This is going to be the same no matter the material of the seats. My approach to adjustment of the seats is to set the lumbar support at minimum, which means virtually no lumber support, with the up and down set at the bottom of my spine. Then I adjust the usual seating position controls to my liking. This makes me sink into the seat where its very comfortable. Then.... if I really need a little but of lumber support I can adjust the lumber carefully. If I put in too much lumber support the seat becomes lumpy, and I swear that I should have bought quite a different car.

Different cars and different seat designs so take this with a grain of salt...

I drove a Lyriq once and for only 15 minutes. The seats were Nappa and IMO very comfortable. My XT6 has ordinary leather seats and I find those to be as comfortable as the Lyriq's. My CT5-V has Nappa seats and they are the most comfortable seats I've had in a car in years.

FWIW, I'm 6'2", longer than avg in torso, weigh around 190 and prefer an upright seating position.

I concur with rgmichel on this. I have the Oxford Stone Nappa and when I first sat in the car I found the seats to be quite firm and "lumpy" as outlined above. I found that the default lumbar was way too invasive and I scaled it back to zero. I am still playing with it but I am pretty sure I can get what I want because it is so flexible in the settings. My biggest beef is that I like to sit higher to see and I am 6'2" tall and I find that I cannot adjust the rear view mirror high enough and I need to duck my head slightly to see out the back. So...I lowered the seat so I can see better which is not ideal but tolerable.

Ya...jury is still out on whether I like that or not. It is cool to be sure but the required change on focal length takes a short time to get used to.

I use the digital mirrors on my two cars but in heavy rain or on slushy winter days, I need to resort to the optical mirror and have to put up with the restricted upward movement of the mirror/screen.

Other thing I don't like is that when you turn off the car, you can't use the mirror to see out the back as it's aimed basically at the car's ceiling. Yes, I can change that but then you get competing images (optical mirror and screen) on mirror.

Yeah, that happened to me only the other day. i turned off the car, then remembered something that I wanted to see out back, and bingo, couldn't see it. At that point I just thought I turned off the car too quickly. I must admit to leaving the car on a lot these days. Its an EV, it should be ok. I leave it on to use V2L for hours at at time, for example, with no problems, and I can leave a passenger in the with the HVAC running, while I nip out for an errand.

I stilI have my hair at 81, which I attribute to taking finasteride. It's for another use, but I started taking it many years ago when I found out it has the interesting side effect of growing hair. My dad was bald as are my 2 much younger brothers.

YMMV and I realize I'm totally off topic here, but I couldn't resist mentioning. My excuse is that huge roof panel might sunburn you bald guys 😀

I know what you mean about the crayons, as my Lux 3 Lyric has the same issue. However, I don't notice the crayons smell anymore, even though I have only driven about 2.5k miles. I don't think its the deal breaker you say. Leather has some big advantages over the lifetime of a car, and I have always preferred leather.
