May 18 reservation - Anyone have an estimate on arrival for purchase?

I'm one of the hundreds who provided a $100 reservation fee for a 2023 Lyriq. I was invited to see and sit in (but not drive) one at my dealership showroom a couple of days ago. Apparently others are getting previews also. When I asked about delivery dates for purchase the sales person was evasive.

Has anyone received a date that those of us at the front of the May 18-19 line will be able to see the actual car that we ordered? I'm anxious to know:
  • Value of my trade-in
  • Dealership add-ons (delivery fee, tax, title, etc)
  • VIN to determine amount of Inflation Recovery Act (IRA) tax relief
  • Other criteria that may affect bottom line price
Apparently the IRA depends on battery component origination and my late-model tradein continues to depreciate. Further, some Lyriq owner wannabes have dropped out due to dealership inflated sticker price.

Thanks.

At this point, there is only one person on this forum who says they have a production date for their May order. Everyone else has no information on their May orders. No one is anywhere near the process of delivery and sale for the May orders, and many are wondering if they will get bumped to 2024 model year.

Various Lyriq VINs have been posted here for Debut (and online), but nothing for May orders.

I'm the one with the TPW of late January for my May 18-19 order. My current order status is 3000. I won't get a VIN until it reaches 3400 - probably around the 1st of the year.

I hope someone does a business school case study about how poorly GM has treated customers - eager customers, good customers, get zero information and are kept in the dark for months. Months. Zero information.

This contempt for their customers is coming from a major corporation that presumably knows what it's doing. Are they designing and building cars with a similar level of incompetence? Makes one wonder...

It is definitely quite perplexing. But then, Cadillac's "leadership" has been struggling since the 2010s. Johan de Nysschen, Mark Reuss, Dan Akerson, etc. all made very bad decisions for Cadillac, and it's still recovering. (It doesn't help that Mark Reuss is still at GM, continuing his legacy of misguided leadership.) It's been uncomfortable to watch. The Lyriq may yet succeed due to its somewhat reasonable price and current tech, but if Cadillac can't actually deliver them or figure out how to communicate to customers before they jump ship, then you can kiss this latest experiment goodbye too to join the ELR and CT6.

There is a report on Facebook that says Cadillac sent an email to dealerships saying May orders would be produced by the end of March with deliveries April to June.

@Lockhart Cadillac Jason can you comment?

Did the post (email) state if MY 2023 or MY 2024? Mention of RWD only, or AWD also? That seems to be right about the time they said 2024 production would start, so wondering.

The post says all May orders. Folks are already questioning it though, they are very doubtful it includes AWD. Hopefully Jason will come on later today and clear up if it’s news or something else

"Investors" will sue a company if they believe they have made misleading statements. GM/Cadillac needs to be very careful. Unfortunately, that's the litigious society we live in.

I don't believe it was a rumor per say. Thought it came from Cadillac to Jason, on his call or visit. Of course, even any small info that Cadillac does choose to share is always subject to change...

I have always been informed early in 2023 for my AWD. Cadillac's Conciege also said January, February or March of 2023. I could live with a 2024 in April 2024 with the same price as listed on the workbench sheet. Frankly, I think Cadillac should flip all of the AWDs to 2024s without increasing the price. Cadillac is way behind with Lyriq deliveries.

I don't see any real benefit to this, other than jumping the car ahead a model year for "newness" purposes. Frankly, I'm not even sure why Cadillac wants to start selling MY24 units before their normal MY start time in the Fall unless they plan on ramping up production and prefer to sell it as a MY24. Even with that there is no reason for them to move "sold" MY23 to MY24.

Yes, they did. And Chevy had officially communicated the planned MY cutover to their dealers. They changed that cutover multiple times as they weren't able to produce them as quickly as they had planned.

To me, it's no different than buying a car at the end of a model year, which by the way is usually the only time I've ever bought a new car. I guess just more to add to the list why I don't have a dog in the depreciation hunt.

LYRIQ Update 12/15

In so many words or less.....The dealer demo units will eat up 23 production. You might see a few units trickle out or be picked up for January but for the most part we won't see allocation until 2024 Model year. The person speaking in regards to LYRIQ did hint at additional models and colors for 2024. Waitlist will be removed from the Cadillac website 1/3. Dealers will receive 2024 Info / digital brochure sometime in January. 2024 LYRIQ kicks off sometime in February 2023. Nothing changes with DE units. Those are still being produced and or ending production soon.

Cadillac did speak about the 2023 EV Credit. And me personally I think this is what the hold up is. The government does not have everything in place for this to go live. Cadillac shared different parameters for qualifying offers that they themselves are still working on in the background. For example, the LYRIQ still needs classified as an SUV and not a sedan. Where the battery is made (USA) comes into play and the minerals used. Overall household income cap (less than $150,000 / Joint $300,000) is also a factor and the MSRP of the LYRIQ as long as it is under $80,000. Starting in 2024 the tax credit could also be used as a discount and not as a rebate should the customer / dealer decide. Sounded like a lot of moving parts and nothing concrete at the moment. $3,750 looks to be the set amount. $7,500 could also be a future possibility if the sun and moon align.

And the moment you all have been waiting for......If you have a order or are on a waitlist for LYRIQ, Cadillac is sending you a $50 gift card which can be used for some exclusive chocolates. Be on the lookout for an email from the Mothership.

Happy Holidays,

Thanks very much for the update. Any idea what that means for those with 2023 orders with specific pricing and options? Will that be honored as these roll to 2024 MY?

So I guess we should plan on a 2024 model, with no idea of pricing or equipped levels and wait for Jan specs. Hopefully with the chocolate email will come some information on what they will do to us or for us to make the transition to 2024 model.
