I am completely satisfied with my purchase.

 

Mine is great, I will be getting it recalibrated next week. It has been working great and is supposed to be better after the work. I am glad I waited and got the turbl

 

Our turbo has been fine and we just got the call about the recalibration. I can't imagine the car driving better but I'll be taking it in!

Haven't been called on the calibration yet, not sure if mine was updated before I got it (I'll call the dealer soon to confirm).
Nevertheless it isn't going to get anything less than 91 octane (and most of the time its 94).

 

Mr. Officer Friendly told me today he thought I was a Nascar driver the way I was driving my SRX.... He thought it drove and handled excellent, though after all the praise, he still issued me a citation for speeding.... You win some, you lose some.



Where in the world do you find 94? Most I've ever seen is 93

 

In Canada we have a product from Sunoco called Ultra 94:

Wonderful product (performance engines humm on this). You can just sit and watch the sports/muscle cars come through on this pump.

 

I got my Turbo about 3 weeks ago.
I love the SRX Turbo and performance.
I just got the bulletin call yesterday not to put unleaded gasoline in it, only 91 or 93 Octane until I get it recalibrated, then I can run regular gas in it.

I will tell you though the ride is rougher than you might like and I have a common suspension thumping problem that many on the forum have commented about.

There is only a PI (Preliminary Investigation) right now and no bulletin or recall.

My advise, when your vehicle comes in, test drive the hell out of it, especially over rough roads at low speeds. If you hear the thumping, do not accept the vehicle.

I wish read this forum before I took delivery of my SRX Turbo. I love everything else about it. I got the Crystal Red with the chrome wheels and had a heav mesh chrome grill put in. It really is an eye popper.

Actually, premium fuel is still "required" on the turbo, even with the new calibration. It's just that if you are forced to put in regular, you no longer run the risk of damaging the engine.

From the Owner's Manual:
If the vehicle has the 2.8L V6 engine(VIN Code 4), use premium unleaded gasoline with a posted octane rating of 91 or higher. For best performance, use premium unleaded gasoline with a posted octane rating of 93. In an emergency, you can use regular unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher. If 87 octane fuel is used, do not perform any aggressive driving maneuvers such as wide open throttle applications. You might also hear audible spark knock during acceleration. Refill the tank with premium fuel as soon as possible to avoid damaging the engine. If heavy knocking is heard when using gasoline rated at 91octane or higher, the engine needs service.

 

The ECM calibration gave ours much better throttle response than before. I was getting ready to take it back to the dealer because I was so disappointed with the surging on acceleration especially in ECO mode and 93 octane is the only gas it has had.

On ours the boost is limited in first gear to one tick below the red area. In second gear and above it will run to the last tick before the red. Can anyone else confirm that their boost is limited in first gear?

 

I noticed the same thing on a test drive. On full throttle you can easily feel it in the seat of the pants. I commented on it to the salesman who agreed.

Did the ECM recalibration solve your accelerationi surge problem ? Still pull strong ??

 

First gear is a little disappointing with the reduced boost for 300HP of course with the boost limit you're not getting 300HP in first. From second gear up it pulls strongly. Full throttle was never a problem it was partial throttle where the surging was noticeable. The ECM update dramatically improved it although it still has some surging. I wish they would remove the boost limit in first gear. I wouldn't be surprised if the 3 liter would run even with it to 30 mph.

 

I love my SRX except for the thumping noise. Had I noted it before I took delivery, I wouldn't have bought it. You'd think Cadillac would have had their stuff together before they put something like this on the market. They've know about this for MONTHS!

 

I haven't noticed any thumping in ours. Other than the original throttle response and boost limit and a noticeable tin-can sound on the roof when it rains we're very happy.

I bought a turbo model a couple of months ago. It sounds like a lumber truck going on any surface except a perfectly smooth one. Cadillac alleges they know about it and are working on it, but they knew about it in December and before!

I'm very close to telling the dealer to take it back. The zone rep was supposed to see it, but cancelled and has not made an attempt to reschedule.

Think very hard about buying one of these cars.
