We love the Lyriq ! However the interior's shinny chrome BLING on the dash area of the car creates a real problem. We live in southern Utah where we see lots of sunshine. The bright chrome reflects the sun directly in the eyes creating a blinding issue. It's terrible ! In addition, the shinny chrome reflects on the windshield which makes it very difficult to see out of the windshield ! And regarding the reflections, one more issue, the shinny chrome reflects on to the sideview mirrors making it very difficult to see images in the mirrors. A safety issue for sure !!
A poor choice by GM to use this shinny chrome material on the Lyriq's dashboard !
The good news is that I solved the reflection problem. I had all of the shinny chrome BLING covered with a high quality flat black vinyl. It looks GREAT. No more reflection problems ! The installion of the vinyl was done by a professional detail shop. However the bad news is that it cost me $575 !

Others have complained about this and some have tried DIY fixes. It would really help everyone if you would post some pictures. Personally, I don't find it to be a problem, even though I'm in very sunny Texas.

Every once in awhile it lines up just right and I see the bright reflection, I put my hand up to block it until the angles change and it goes away. Not a big issue, maybe once a month Also here in Texas

I agree it's an issue. Did your detail shop also put vinyl on the buttons?

Really surprised by this. I live in Florida, "the sunshine state," and have never had an issue with it. 2024 Lyriq Lux 2

Although I have never had an issue with this, perhaps my height, perhaps just luck. Could you post photos of the work? There are lots of complaints on here and that would help those get an idea of which is worse, the problem, or the solution.
