What oil are those with high mileage Escalades with the 6.0L engine using?

I use 5w-30 Valvoline Synthetic Max Life High Mileage oil in my 2006 with 211k miles and the engine runs great without any valve-train noise like ticking or smoking. The oil also has seal conditioners that restores old rubber seals that have not failed yet.

I purchased my truck with 206k miles on the clock. I have been using the oil for only about a little over 5k miles. I have no ideal what oil was used before I bought the Caddy. I only know that the engine runs smooth with the Valvoline oil, so hopefully the high mileage oil live up to it claims and keep the seals going a while longer.

This is exactly the response I was hoping for. Same oil beginning to current on a higher mileage vehicle. I was already considering Mobil 1 full synthetic so this sells me on it. Do you have any oil usage with that mileage and how frequently do you change it?

I don't follow mileage that closely anymore. I will look at my records. I reset the oil mileage in DIC, when it gets to about 10%, I get around to changing it religiously.

I can tell you this. The Mobil1 turned the inside of my engine an orangish color. I had to replace the oil pick up tube o-ring around 225k so I was inside the engine. Oh, zero sludge!!!

The oil you choose to use in a high mileage engine isn't nearly as important, IMHO, as the oil that was used before and its service interval. If the engine wasnt taken care of and properly maintained before reaching "high mileage" it won't matter what kind of oil is used now.

Yes I agree. Thats why I was hoping for responses from people who purchased new or with low miles and now have high miles to see what oils they have used throughout its life cycle.

With 192k plus I have my oil changed every 3,000 with a generic synthetic/regular blend for high mileage. I The previous owners must have taken care of it because it barely shows any drop on the dip stick between changes.

I thought I would throw my 2 cents in, I have just turn 170k on the clock and have used mobile one religiously until just recently, about 2 oil changes ago, and I switched to a synthetic/regular blend. Mine is a 2004 and I absolutely still love this truck!!! It has its problems, just recently it was blowing hot air so I had to change the blend door actuator. That was a JOB!!!! but the satisfaction of getting it done was great. Now the Hot is not blowing hot so Im afraid the heater core is clogged, so its gonna be a fun weekend for me.
Yall be safe.

I have on other vehicles. Not the Escalade, doesn't burn a drop of oil, no leaks at 160k. I would only use it if you need to, like an oil leak, or bad valve seals. Don't use it just because of the miles. No need. And potentially once you do, its a lifetime decision. Potentially. Because it puffs up rubber to seal leaks. Once you switch away, leaks come back worse than ever. So only make the switch when you have a rubber seal or gasket issue in the engine somewhere

Tried them all, Mobil 1 5w30 seems to be the smoothest, quietest. And cleanest. I use the Fram Ultra synthetic XG 3506 rated at 20k intervals, so I leave it on for 2x oil changes. Buy both at Walmart, the place to go for the best prices.

Could be our big 6.0 engines with 6qts are not that hard on oil. The problems I've seen with GTX "frying" were smaller aluminum engines like Toyota, Honda, etc. Enough problems to not use it on any engine. Also, you clearly change your oil on time. Thats huge. Glad to hear good news.

I use the slippery stuff that's a 50/50 blend high mileage generic from the 55 gallon drum every 3,000 miles with over 194,000 and it does not seem to move much on the dipstick between changes.
