Is there a plug and play conversion kit to change my headlights to led? I purchased some replacement headlights that came off a 08 Escalade esv and the ballast off my base model Escalade does not fit . Can someone tell me the difference in the ballasts or direct me to a plug and play led option

thanks in advance

Definitely not plug n play. Some of the earliest threads on this show a few successes by individuals who purchased the parts and got a tech qualified enough to get them up and running.

For now, the eBay seller here made
them plug n play with the correct harness.

This is a good read on how the first Escalade owners dealt with trying to swap Platinum headlights in place of the HID lamps. One of the reads states that using all new OEM parts ran 5-$6K for the swap. The slam dunk eBay version with a harness is a deal.

I'll have to dig up the diagrams form when I did it. It helps if you already have the platinum headlight plug, if not, you can just order one from mouser and make it yourself. Basically I just matched the wires up from the HID lamp to the LED lamp. Low beam to low beam, high beam to high beam, parking to parking, and bulb out detection to bulb out detection. It works just the same as it would with the HID lamp. There are two leftover wires from the DRL because the LED housing has NO dedicated DRL lamp, it just used the low beams and used a resistor in the harness to dim them. Also, I think the platinum lamp has an extra ground with I just spliced with one of the existing grounds. I wouldn't want to use those anyway as it will just shorten the life of the non-replaceable LED's in the headlamp assembly.

I am not here to give someone a step by step on how to do anything nor am I making a guarantee on anything. Why would I take responsibility for what someone else does to their car? I simply shared what I did. Do what you will with it. It is also not my responsibility to do someone else's research for them. Yes, that conversion WateKing is a major undertaking. Not worth it in my opinion. The lights aren't even that great. The factory HID headlamps with a projector upgrade would blow the OEM LED headlights out of the water.

Done, I suggested a concern, you reaffirmed it. It’s in the open, everyone’s the wiser for it, no harm done.

I hear what you’re saying. Unfortunately until the information on how to swap a couple of (terminal) pins is actually put out there, it’s not something that’s ever been done.

Don’t get me wrong, I support anyone who takes on swaps like this. Unfortunately, I’ve also learned that the fallout and bantering that occurs from individuals posting (supposedly) helpful information they never intend to share or post is simply a thread derail similar to trolling.

I like what he did. Unfortunately, it only benefits the driver. I would be really bummed having my teenage girls on the road with that vehicle behind them or coming at them on the highway.

The technology for adaptive LED headligts is finally tricking down to main stream cars so you don't have the boy racer headlights giving you this ...

Yes, there is a plug-and-play conversion kit to change your LED headlights. This kit is usually found in the same store where you bought the LED headlights. In any case, this is the case on the online store where I order my LED headlights. I recently ordered some car interior lights, and because this is the first time I will install such lights, I also needed the right kit. And on their website, I easily found everything I needed to assemble these interior lights. So search the Internet, and you will find it.

Welcome, Interesting clip from a non automotive article from Regency, but that info is really based on claims comparing 120V residential & commercial products.

Back on track w/ automotive products, this automotive journal shows how GM went to a company in Germany who was already making LED systems for Lexus & Audi when the 1st Escalade LED were made in Lippstadt.

As long as you use PayPal to purchase any item, you have purchase protection that’s 10x easier to resolve than a credit card. If they don’t want to use PayPal, then you’re spidey senses should be tingling.

Just make sure the seller verifies via text they’ll provide tracking and take sequential pictures of the item as you open the box. Install it right away to ensure you can make a claim or resolve any issues before your window closes.

PayPal uses the actual text / email / pictures from the communications as the deciding factor in resolution so they will ensure you get what you’re promised, including your shipping costs (both ways).

What happened to your existing headlamp?
