Crank no start

My caddie has 119k on it I just purchased it over 2 weeks ago about 3 days ago I was driving just fine and then notice the gas light was on didn't pay too much attention and ended up making it home. The following day tried starting my Cadillac and cranking cranking cranking no start don't know what to do don't know what it is checked all the fuses and found out the fuel pump relay it was blown still did not fix the issue going to check the fuel rail valve and make sure there's gas getting to the engine and there isn't other than that I'm assuming it's the fuel pump any ideas if not is there a kill switch that would kill the fuel pump if I accidentally hit the panic button or lock it a certain way just want to know if these 2009 Cadillac DTS is have a kill switch to the fuel pumps other than that I'm going to change the fuel filter and fuel pump here in the next few days if there's an easier way to do this please let me know I can hear the fuel pump click on when I turn the car to the on accelerate position yet still there's no gas or pressure getting to the engine once or twice in the last day or two they started for about four five seconds and then died please help don't know what else to do give me any ideas did I can do before buying a fuel pump such as pressurizing the fuel rails or is it something else to do with the security system

First thing scan the cars computer for trouble codes. If its a security issue it will show up here. Next check fuel pressure, this must be done with a gauge. A finger pressing on the Schrader valve is not good enough. Pressure should be over 50 psi (don't remember the exact spec). If that is good check for spark using a spark tester ( Google "st125 spark tester). Next is fuel injector pulse, using an incandescent test light pull one of the injector connector and attach the tip to on terminal of the connector and the alligator clip to the other side. Have an assistant crank the engine and see if the test light flashes. If available you can get a noid light that plugs directly into the injector connector. I should have listed this first and I don't mean to sound like a smart ass, but you did add fuel to the tank? Right? Wouldn't be the first time I chased a fuel pressure issue only to find the customer had run out of gas.

Sweet thank you and yes there is fuel funny thing is though when it was working properly and driving just fine I was on my way home and it was on E like really low and it was on E for quite a bit I'd say about maybe 5-10 minutes or miles anyways you got me home and then after that is when the issue started happening but yes it has fuel other than that get a gauge to test the pressure on the fuel rail check for spark and then yeah I can go from there do you think I should replace the whole fuse box in the rear because We're Dreaming to the fuel pump was telling a little burnt plastic inside the cabin I went and looked in the rear fuse box and notice a relay was brown and burnt and took it into the auto parts store and of course it was bad replaced it still no crank no start what is a terminal jumper on a relay can I do that on the fuel pump relay if not that's okay I'm definitely not getting over 50 psi on the fuel rail in the engine so I'm thinking it's you do the fuel pump or something else would the fuel filter have anything to do with that

Did you figure out what it was ? Update ? Mines is doing the same thing wont start but cranks seems like it aint Getting no gas i changed the fuel filter it started right up and started leaking from fuel filter eather because i didnt put new washer on or didnt tighten it enuff but then it just quit leaking and drove all night but this morning had cold start issues and no codes came up started for a couple seconds then died wouldnt start back up again i changed fuel pump yestersay too because car was loosing power and died on me couple times figired i was outta gas because it was on Empty went n got gas can filled the car up with that it started right up then died wouldnt start after that only got 99k on it never had problems before it runs good its a 2000 cadillac deville dhs
