Brake dust repellent, this stuff works

I have tried a few other brands. They did not work. This stuff does:

I am going on two weeks dust free. Amazing. I was lucky to get two days without this.
Even at $9 for a small can, it's worth every penny.

Just thought I would share.

It said safe for all wheel finishes on it. I should state that i probably do alot less braking than most people. My commute is almost all highway. But still, after a couple days without this stuff, the dust is already thick on my wheels. I think it's been about 10 days since I put this on. That includes all my commuting, through rain (which I thought would collect alot of brake dust even with this stuff) and the autocross. I give this stuff the JimmyH stamp of approval.

Oh, now you post this! :p I just bought some other brand of stuff last night, figuring I would try something new. (Normally I use Meguair's Hot Rims wheel cleaner.) If I had known the Armor All stuff had the Jimmy H stamp of approval I would've bought that instead.

Of course, I got home from Autozone and found a brand new bottle of the Meguiar's stuff was already in the garage, so now I have 2 bottles of wheel cleaner that will last me until the cows come home, by which time I will have forgotten about this thread and the product recommendation contained within!

All I can say is it worked for me. Maybe the Camaro brembos produce a different type of dust than CTS-V brembos. I cleaned my wheels and sprayed this stuff on on 4/9. Still no dust. Except for a few areas where it's obvious the spray didn't contact. There is one 1"x3" or so area on one wheel where the dust is caked on

Wait, wait, wait, you tested this stuff on a Camaro. :suspect: Now I'm not so sure...

I would really like to see a wheel cleaner that has a decent repellant mixed in. I'll still probably give this stuff a try though, thanks for the heads up.

So based on your recommendation I went and picked this stuff up. I cleaned the junk out of my wheels then put this stuff on per the instruction and let it dry for probably 7 hrs (I was at work so the time was easy). I have now been driving it for a week, including an autocross yesterday, and though my black car doesn't look that clean, my look amazing. Not completely dust free after a week, but definitely more like a normal car. I highly recommend this stuff and I will be using it from now on. O, and just a word of advice, don't touch the wheels after cleaning. You will see a dusty fingerprint on your wheels.

For the price it's definitely worth trying. I'm going to go pick up a bottle tonight and try it out next time I get a chance to clean the car. Honestly, I would be happy if it would keep the dust off after a week of normal driving. I have been amazed how quick these wheels get coated with brake dust.

I've been using this stuff for a few days now (put it on the drivers side wheel and not the passengers side) So far it really seems to work, the test wheel looks like I just washed it (well minus the places where water got on it when I pulled the car in) and the other side has a noticeable haze to it.

humm maybe some better brake pads won't be so bad now...

It says safe for all wheel finishes, including chrome I think. I don't think it's anything caustic. It's not a cleaner. Probably more like a wax than anything else. Besides, powdercoated wheels get a clearcoat anyway, don't they?

Hmmm, maybe I'll try this stuff again.

Gonna try this stuff on my chrome stockers tonight.

One caveat with this stuff: you have to make sure you spray it on generously. There is always that little section that I miss. A little strip somewhere on the wheel covered with brake dust while the rest of the wheel is pristine.
