Can anyone tell me an alternative to use for 82 Cadillac front wheel drive wheel/rim . I cant even find a spare and I remember having one when I purchase the car but another missing part while at the mechanic place for the last 5 years. I know you likely won't believe this but other than the lug stud length anything which fits a 2002 Trans-Am, Firebird or Camaro will fit (or that same generation). Yes the F-Body was RWD and yes it was a very strange offset for RWD.

You will need these wheel studs or something in the same length:
PTC 97239 {#972391} Front; M12-1.50 Serrated Wheel Stud (Application was a Hummer as I recall)
You also need the lug nuts from the TA if you want the decorative plastic caps to work.

I'm not saying that you need to use the same wheels I did but knowing that the F-Body wheels fit should really help your search as I discovered this myself and as I know it's not general knowledge.

This is how I know (My other '79 E-Body):

Thank you for the information. I will pass it on to my mechanic. Need something to get the car from the mechanic.

I wonder if it would be a good idea to contact TrueSpoke to see what they say.

Exactly what happened to your original? I wonder if repair of your original is an option. I'm not a wire wheel expert but I thought to properly re-chrome a true wire wheel everything needs to be dismantled and each part needs to be chromed and then basically a special skill set to rebuild the wheel. I guess TrueSpoke might be able to point you in the direction of an option if they cannot help.

The mechanic that has taken almost 5 years to replace my motor left the car that was never left exposed to the elements. I have owned the car since 1983. The spokes started corroding and the mechanic taking responsibility for the damage took the rim off to match at a junkyard, though he had the right rim and forgot it. Came back several days later and the rim could not be found. I have a place in Houston that resurface the other three wheels. I need a front-wheel-drive rim. Any idea where I can find one, I will consider the spokes or a rim I can put on just so I can get my car. The Mechanic will pay for the rim if I can find it. Thanks for your comments. Love to get it running and show it in front of my house like the other Eldorado's I have seen. Anyone know where I can get the Angel Hood ornament. Don't seem to be able to find one of those also.

I didn't think to mention it because I thought it was obvious but the most direct replacements are:
-1980-1985 Seville (K-Body) wheels /rims
-1979-1985 "E-Body" rims which includes the Eldorado/ Toronado/ Riviera

Anyone selling parts and showing a photo of the entire car will likely have the rims even if they do not advertise them.

Harry,
I think Westmoc is looking for rims like the ones member "BigBird8855" recently posted a photo of. They are true spoke wheels. Take a look at this post:

I know Dayton wire wheel company has front wheel drive wires.

What does your wheel look like, picture? Makes it easier.

If the ones you all ready have are made in USA, the company name logo etc should be on the back or hub somwhere.

Have a look at this webpage from a well know Cadillac collector/seller. It shows Appliance, Daytons and GM wire wheels that were used specifically for the 79-85 Eldos. Hopefully from it you can advise on what brand/style you are actually looking for.

Hope it helps, Dave
