Hi all,

I’m eyeing a 2025 Escalade premium luxury platinum to possibly purchase as soon as today…though I just last night learned of all the engine failures on the 2021-2024’s that have been recalled. Has anybody had problems with their 2025 yet or too early to tell? While I know the 2025 is not technically recalled, aren’t they using the same engine?? While the car seems to be a great fit for our family’s needs, having a previous Range Rover with sudden engine failure is not an experience I’d like to revisit, so reading this about the Escalades made me pause until I can dive deeper. I’d appreciate your thoughts and knowing about any problems you’ve experienced specifically with your 2025s only — thanks so much!!

I was wondering the same thing as we are looking to purchase a 2025, however between there simply not being enough data out there with not tons of 2025s rolling around and even so, limited miles on them, the reliability of data points is small. I have seen 1 youtube video claiming a 2025 Escalade engine bricked, however, I did not watch it to confirm it really was.

My thought as of now, is to hold off on purchasing a 2025 and play the wait and see game, because I don't have much confidence that GM has the engine issues handled moving forward for 2025 or 2026 models (when they arrive). Just my stance.

I know OP and others are wanting response from owners of 2025 Escalades which I am not but reading threads on subject of bottom end bearing problems on 2025 built 6.2 engines not really seeing posts of 2025 owners having problem with recall items for earlier built 6.2 engines.

Here is link to thread on 6.2 engines and there seems that there is not a post on 2025 6.2 owners having problem with bottom end bearings.

The only problem I've heard of with the 2025 is that they've taken away the 2nd gen Duramax 3.0 option. Did a long family reunion road trip with a cousin and our wives to Atlanta Metro from Fredericksburg, VA in his 2024 (2023 maybe) Escalade with the 1st gen Duramax. First time doing that trip on one tank of fuel, in total comfort and with no issues. Refilled at a station near the hotel we booked for the weekend, and even then the dash cluster showed over 40 miles of range remaining. We've been talking quite a bit here lately about his take on both the Escalade in general and specifically on the 1st gen Duramax. His take is good on both, but better on the Duramax,... and the current 2nd gen 3.0 is rated to be so much better in power, reliability, and fuel efficiency. In my book a win over the 6.2,... fixed or not. Starting to pay more attention to the GMC Yukon Denali Ultimate with the new 3.0 Duramax. But to respond more to your post, reports I've read say the fix GM came up with was a change in the recommended motor oil viscosity.

I’ve had several problems but none of which have been the engine. Mine has been technology issues. The panic alarm randomly goes off when a door is opened even with the car unlocked (gm is aware of the issue but they have no fix yet) and the internet/wifi goes out (seems to be a gm/onstar common issue with the telematics module). When the wifi goes out it causes all kinds of problems. And I have to continually login to the the youtube kids/Hulu apps.

Again, no issues “fingers crossed” with the engine. And hopefully these things can eventually be fixed.

Keep in mind. Just because there was a recall, it doesn’t mean that all will be affected. The vast majority of posts is from owners that have had issues. The fact is, the ones with engine problems are a very small percentage of people that have had no issues, like me. 18k miles on my ‘23 and not one issue other than a tear in one of the CV boots

fyi, I also came from. Full size Range Rover (‘18) that had a few issues, mostly the electrical bugs since it was the first rear of the refresh. Other than the interior (Range was much nicer with all the leather) I like the cadi better.

Purchased our 2025 Escalade Sport three weeks ago. Last week the check engine light came on and so took it to the dealer. Luckily not a mechanical issue and ended up being software. They had to reload 13 programs which took a full day. I am going to do an early oil change this weekend (1100 miles) and will be using 0-40 oil full synthetic.

Also worth noting... my electric assist steps have a mind of their own. Sometimes they pop out and re-stow without issue and about 40% of the time they are possessed by a demon and cannot function properly. The car repeatedly tries to deploy and stow the steps just on the driver's side. They have been reprogrammed by the dealer twice but no permanent fix yet

I have 2,000 miles on my 2025 . The only two issues I have encountered is the center information screen froze once. This reset after sitting about four hours. Periodically, the side mirrors stay tilted down when the vehicle is placed back into drive. If I shift to reverse and back to drive they correct themselves.

Understanding that you may have been able to troubleshoot your infotainment screen and side mirrors, our team would like to make sure these concerns do not become ongoing. If you are currently still having these occurrences, we do encourage you to send us an email to socialmedia@gm.com with your Username and Forum name in the subject line. We will watch for your outreach.

I’ve had the ‘25 premium luxury ESV for about 6mths & I currently have 10k miles on it. It’s already been in the shop too many times. Up until last week most of the issues seemed to be electrical. Infotainment console has a mind of its own- calls bounce between AirPlay and iPhone- without notice. The radio resets everyday. I have to tell the car every morning what I want to listen to- it won’t stay on the last station (FM or Sirius) it was on before turning the car off. The step rails 100% have a mind of their own. They will close up on the foot while in mid-step. I’ll be surprised if someone doesn’t break something bc you get used to them deploying on demand- then all of a sudden they are hit/miss- for no good reason! The car is always in park, etc etc! Sometimes they deploy sometimes there’s a delay- and they’ll hit you in your shin! My kid and I have both “fallen” out of the car bc we expected it to be deployed but when we took the step down there was not a step to catch us! 🙄 I only ever use the rear view mirror in rear camera mode- again for no reason it’ll all of a sudden lose camera connection and just change to a solid bright blue color. That’ll last a few seconds then it’ll bounce back to the rear camera- this has started happening more and more frequently now. The volume dial doesn’t always work- you can just spin it and no sound! AirPlay isn’t consistently connecting- 1/2 the time it works, the other 1/2 I have to plug the phone into the charger so it’ll play thru the radio. 🙄 The passenger side tv works occasionally- sometimes it says it won’t work bc there’s not a passenger detected… I’m 140lbs how big do I need to be to be detected? 🙄 The ac vents weren’t working properly- then all of a sudden the tech said the vent was just closed- 🙄 Um no! I certainly know to slide the vent back and forth to check that! 🙄 Super-cruise works intermittently. Half the time it’ll say it can’t be used bc there’s no road information- on a major interstate which I have used super cruise on just days previously- it’s always a roll of the dice. Don’t rely on the HUD to give an accurate speed limit- it’ll have you going 30 on the interstate and 65 thru a neighborhood! Then all of a sudden it may realize where it’s at and reset with accurate info. Last week I started hearing a whining like the transmission whining. I was told I couldn’t get in until my appt in Oct, which is like the 10th appt it seems like- for all the same electrical problems. So I just asked them to have a tech ride with me to hear it so obviously whining- he just revved up the engine while in park and immediately said yep, it’s the transmission. They warned me I’d be without my vehicle for “a good while”. I need my truck so to try and expedite I called another GM store to ask their thoughts bc he didn’t check the whining with the transmission shifting he only did the idle check. The other shop said it could be the transmission but based on what I relayed they thought it may just be an idle pulley (sp?) and if that were the case I should have my car back same or next day… yep, I got lucky that time! It was the idle pulley and I got it back the same day. 🙌 But now I’m so paranoid the transmission will be the next thing! 🙄 Last year I had the ‘24 esv- I didn’t even have it 24hrs and the engine failed and it was on a flatbed! 🤯😫 Pretty sure they’re all junk and even though Escalades have been all I’ve driven for about 20yrs- I think this will be my last! Spend almost $120k for a car and it’s sat in the shop too many times already. Twice I’ve had to rent Yukon XL’s to get my kids to tournaments and so forth bc the brand new truck I bought was sitting on the lot waiting to be worked on for almost 2weeks at a time. I’m mainly over it with dealing with the dealership and the finance and salesmen that say they’ll hang in there with you if you ever need them only to be fed all the bull and excuses to try and smooth things over!!!! Just keep my dang truck on the road and out of the shop!!!!! 😤🤯🤯 The last time I had to rent a Yukon XL the bright finance guy proposed selling me yet another Escalade- and of course upgrading. Wow, what a solution! I’m over it with the dealership! So I’d say avoid the ESV’s, maybe Escalades as a whole, unless you just enjoy frequent trips to the dealership- I don’t!!!! + having to rent comparable vehicles bc the dealer will provide a midget windup car that won’t fit your family and your busy sports schedule.

For everyone having issues with their ‘25 infotainment / screens / Cameras / CarPlay, etc, there has been an NHTSA bulletin since APRIL and GM has yet to provide the “software update” that they mention in the bulletin. When brought in to ANYTHING having to do with the infotainment system, tells them to bill 0.2 hours to a random warranty code, and tell the customer to wait on the software update. Since April. Having owned 9 full size GM SUVs and the last 4 of them being Escalades, this has been a HORRIFIC experience. Dealer’s hands are tied, and I have had a case with Cadillac customer service since July, and they won’t even call me back. When I call for an update, they act like they have no idea about these issues, and just give me the runaround. I’m at the point of dumping GM for good, because if they don’t care about these issues, why should I care to buy their products. Simply unacceptable.
The system won’t allow me to post links, but the NHTSA bulletin number is: 11016667 and I will try and reply to my post with the direct link to the PDF.

I was surprised by my husband with a brand new 2025 Cadillac Escalade Sport with Onyx package and a bunch of other bells and whistles. i had previously for years been a Lexus SUV owner without any type of issues. The new LX600 that replaced the LX570 is no longer a V8 therefore I didn't want the V6 option so my husband decided to move forward with surprising me with the new Escalade.
I got this vehicle 07/31/2025. We were out of town for a week so long story short on 09/16/2025 the vehicle would not start and there was 0 power. It was towed to the local dealership for service and to see what the issues were. The vehicle was inspected and they had to replace the battery and do some other work I am not very well versed as far as car terms. All I know is my vehicle was non functioning on 09/16/2025 literally 47 days after purchasing it. It remained at the dearship entered with 900 miles, picked it up with 1200 miles as they stated they needed to test drive it extensively which I think is BS but ok. My vehicle was returned 09/30/2025 at the end of the day, I drove it home, and on 10/01/2025 in the morning heading to work, same issue the vehicle would not start 0 power nothing. It has now been towed to the dealership again and they are figuring it out round #2. I hope I don't pick it up with 2k miles on it lol but would not be surprised if I do. I am very disilusioned with this experience. i love the vehicle, but the lack of reliablity so far has been disheartning. Also, unfortunately my local dealership does not have Excalade loaners so I am without a vehicle which is a pain in the neck. Thankfully I have an extra vehicle (Lexus lol) that I am driving in the meantime. This is not the point. I have never had issues with vehicles prior to this, it is sad that buying a $147k vehicle doesn't guaratee a reliable or functioning vehicle. Like I said, the vehicle drives great... when it turns on lol. The vehicle looks beautiful i love it, but the whole point of having a vehicle is it functioning ... you know... so that you can .... drive it lol. I am hoping this issues is taken care of and I have no issues moving forward. I feel if it happens again I may be forced into looking at options to rid myself of it.
