Have had a 2024 Lyriq Tech GM PEP program vehicle tagged for a few months and is coming out of service with 6,000 miles. Was hoping the price reduction would have greater than 19% off $63,300 MSRP. Final price @$51,100

Looking like the best deal available would be a 3 year 12K a year lease @$362 a mo, $500 down. And the $500 should come down to $200 given the dealer put a high documentation fee in place that GM says cant be more than $75.

A couple questions, like a dumba$$ I waited until I got the lease price before comparing the Tech and Lux models. After seeing just how many features are absent on the Tech has been a buz kill.

Anyone have a Tech or compared the with the Lux? Also appreciate Thoughts on the Lyriq overall.

In Ohio we get whammyed for EV registration, and my insurance will bill will be $200 higher every six months. Im going after this vehicle principally because it has gotten great reviews, and as a GM retiree, if you want great lease prices you must have an existing lease which I do not.

Appreciate thoughts. Its not about the money so much as getting a great deal on a vehicle I will have to live with for 3 years

I have a 2023 which is close to the 2024 Lux 3. I was given a Tech 1 loaner once and quite frankly, I thought it was terrible. The sound system on the level 1 totally sucks. I love Super Cruise, so not having that would be a major downer. The lack of so many features would definitely be a no go for me.

Check used LYRIQs. There's a Lux 2 in CA that includes shipping for the price of your Tech 1.

It sounds like you are dissatisfied with the Tech level and don't even have the car yet. What are you going to think/feel EVERY time you get into the car for the term of that lease?

getting a lease is the true objective ans as such the price Im trying to get is as close to $0 as possible, at which point i could learn to love it.
Which is it? A friend of mine recently ordered a Taycan and said he had been saving his whole life and decided it was time to start spending some of it. There is a vast chasm between a Tech and a Lux 2/3. A Tech is the Chevrolet of Cadillacs. If you don’t care about the long list of shortcomings, and it’s not about the money, then pull the trigger on the one with luxury features.

What domyou have to spend to actually get onenof these with Super cruise? Hobestly, have been just Shopping at the GM Family first Program site for vehicles. Have no idea what it costs to get the perfect Lyriq! Never even driven one yet but ready to buy off the PEP car lot sight unseen..
You have 2 go to Level 2 (Lux or Sport) to get Super Cruise. It is not available as a separate option.

The Blazer is 5,000 less (QRD Price is $45,000) and is not as well equipped as a Tech Lyriq
What does the Lyriq Tech have that the Blazer with the Comfort and Convenience Package doesn't have? Also, you can add Super Cruise to a Blazer for $3255 (MSRP).

I'm surprised that you are not using the Online Order/Reference Guide to study/learn about the different trim levels and what they do/don't come with. Since you are looking at PEP vehicles, here is the 2024 Lyriq Guide: 2024 LYRIQ Online Order/Reference Guide. You can use the drop down menu items to change model years, GM Divisions, Vehicle models.

We just leased at '24 Lyriq Luxury 2, sunroof, SC, etc. for $508/month, $2K down, 24 months, 12K per year. Effective lease payment: $591.
Did have an extra $1K discount as a GM supplier, so you may or may not qualify for that add'l amount.

My son leased one on a 24 month pre-paid lease for $13,719, 12K miles per year = $579/month.

So heres the two deals I have

1. 2024 Lyriq Tech, GM Program Car, 6,000 miles. 12,000 miles per year 36 months $200 down $364 / month everything included.

2. 2025 Blazer LS that includes convience package 2 year 0 down 12,000 miles per year $404 per month.

This is a hard one. I currently own a 2014 Volt, 2012 Tahoe, 2006 DTS (mint) 2004 Envoy XUV And 2006 Pontiac Solstice. Im not really stuck in the past, but I worked on all these vehcles in development at GM. I will take credit for being OCD.

As you can tell I have a hard time parting with vehicles and only have a three car garage. The new lease vehicle will live its entire life with me outdoors in NE Ohio. DTS, Tahoe and Solstice nestled in garage.

My Dad once said of me that " I wouldnt spend a dime unless I got a quarter in return". The only advantage of the Blazer I can see is there is no way I will be liable for tires on the lease.

On the Lyriq, i could see having to buy an expensive set of run flats at end of lease @ 36,000 miles. My heart wants the Lyriq even without the fancy light show, AWD and the cooled seats. Still is a Tough call

Also, I like Made n USA and the Lyriq wins that factor hands down.

So finally the skin flint question, how are Lyriqs on tires? Life expentency over 36,000 miles? :D

Lyriq tires are not run-flats, they are self-sealing. And all report that the tires for both the 20" and 22" rims are wearing very well, though I doubt anyone has 36K miles on them just yet.

I bought the TECH version, but if the lease you presented were available I'd have taken it in a heartbeat. (I'm not sure if you have the AWD or RWD version quoted in the lease - my car is the AWD). The .67 residual factor providing a terminal value of $42K+ is very optimistic. My 2024 TECH AWD has 10K miles on it and Carvana is offering $41K to buy it - and that's the highest offer I've gotten. That's $10K depreciation in less than a year compared to your lease expectations $9K over three years. That makes leasing BY FAR the best option. The capitalized cost of $51K+ will remain in your bank account, likely earning somewhere in the range of 3.5% over the coming 3 years. That's roughly $150/month in interest, reducing the lease cost to just over $200/month. At that price it's cheaper than almost anything else you can lease, including full economy cars with only a fraction of the features of the LYRIQ. In my state I only pay sales tax on the amount of the lease payment every month, not the price of the car. That will save you an additional amount every month as well. The money factor of 0.0012 converts to an APR of 2.88% - a true bargain in today's interest rate environment.

In terms of the features missing on the TECH - if you can't live without them, then move into a different trim level. SuperCruise is likely a big feature for some, but the majority of my daily driving is local roads, and SC isn't much use in that situation. And even if I did drive longer distances, any EV requires charging and most non-Tesla chargers are "hit or miss", at best. For longer trips, LYRIQ Charging speeds aren't very good - 180KwH is max speed; my Teslas were 250KwH. That's a big difference. Add to that the Tesla battery is far more efficient, and the Lyriq takes nearly 50% longer to charge the same distance that the Tesla will go. The E-MPG figures give you an idea of the difference - it's a pretty major impact. That gets pretty old when your road trip is over 300 miles. For that reason I use my wife's BMW 330e plug in hybrid for longer drives. And in that situation the SuperCruise benefit is offset by the long charging times and uncertain EV Charger availability. True, the base stereo isn't spectacular, but for most of my drives I'm behind the wheel for 20-30 minutes and it isn't a big deal. For longer highway ride, the better stereo may be helpful, but again not a big deal. In 2-3 years all EVs will have better features, driving range, etc. No reason for me to pay extra for features I may not use often, if at all.

The Lyriq is my 7th EV, including a Tesla 3 and Y. Teslas are, by far, the most advanced EVs available from an EV perspective. But, and it was the reason I sold mine, the "car" as opposed to the EV tech isn't very good. Noise levels are high, suspension is terrible, build quality is sub-par. The best part of Tesla is the SuperCharger network, and I now have the Cadillac adapter, so I'm good to go.

The biggest benefit of the Lyriq is the ride and quiet cabin. It's light years better than Tesla, and on rough roads you'll immediately notice a major improvement in the Lyriq compared to almost all other cars, ICE or EV. It's not a sport car, and doesn't have "European" handling, but it's not designed for that.

So, worst case, you find you miss some of the features of a higher trim level, and you're "stuck" with the car for 3 years. By that time EVs will have progressed a long way, charging networks improved, maybe new battery tech and much more. You'll have a wide array of choices, and the LYRIQ will cost you roughy $200/month as you wait, after adjusting for interest earned, benefitting from a 2.88% APR lease rate and overly optimistic residual value, and likely saving an additional amount on routine maintenance, gasoline savings and more. You'll also have a full factory warranty for the entire period. The money you save you can put to a new car that in a few years will likely be better in every way.

Great points, and I totally agree, pulling the trigger today. Bird in the hand looks very good. The way they list them as PEP Cars there is little provided other than model, interior, exterior colors and prices. At MSRP of $63,300 I see a couple thousand un accounted for outside of the $695 for color. T,he remaining money appears to perfectly fit what is charged for the driver convience package which would really give me exactly what I want. Lets see what happens when it arrives at the dealer

My TECH Trim has the Driver Convenience Package, and I agree with you - those are the main options I would want. If you do buy the LYRIQ I'd strongly suggest buying the Cadillac NACS Adapter that will allow you to charge the car at Tesla SuperChargers, if you plan on using your car anywhere at anytime. I also suggest if you do get the adapter also consider getting the Tesla app and creating an account through Tesla to allow you to use the SuperCharger network. It works far better than the Cadillac app.
