I don't purchase high mileage vehicles. That's just my preference. I would rather pay more for a 21 with low mileage, if that was the year I was looking for. If it has meticulous service records that would help, but you're still rolling the dice. If you purchase it and soon after a major component fails, then you have a problem.

 

I wouldn't buy any car with 100K miles on it.

Sorry, @phjohnso - I'm a little late getting to this party! I agree with what has been said. I steer clear of high mileage used vehicles. It's easy to maintain the external appearance of a newer car (like this 2021 XT5), but there is no getting away from the high mileage effects on the car's mechanicals. I guess the only exception would be if it was being sold by a dealer as a certified pre-owned with substantial warranty coverage remaining. But, since this is from a private party, the mechanicals are more of a crap shoot! And the price is not a bargain, either!
