Hello,

My wife and I are looking to get one of these two. We were originally going to get a sedan, but we have a baby on the way and we have a 3 year old (soon to be 4) and figured it's just not practical. I need the following to fit comfortably:

1. Rear facing baby seat
2. Booster seat for 4 year old that likes to swing her feet :nono:
3. Stroller + Groceries
4. Stoller + Luggage

The last one is important. We live 2 hours away from Orlando and we visit 3 or 4 times a year for vacation and to visit her family. Obviously space is not an issue with the Acadia. It's just that we love the styling on the SRX. I have a Cadillac ATS and my wife loves the fit and finish. Does anyone here have a similar size family? If so, is the SRX comfy enough for all the things I listed? Much thanks!

By the way, I get a GM employee discount and the difference in price between these two for a 36 month/10k miles a year lease is about 4 dollars, so price difference is not really an issue here.

I've been a fan of cadillac ever since oldsmobile was phased out. I looked at both the acadia denali and srx but found the acadia too big for my needs and went with a 2013 srx performance and love it! but keep in mind that i was looking at a 2012 acadia denali as i liked the body style better than the revised 2013 style. if you need the room for your family-go with the acadia and look at the denali option. the acadia is not quite as "nimble" as the srx but it has a ton of real useable room. hope this helps and good luck!!

We have one of each! The '13 SRX is mine; the '08 Acadia is my wife's. We have a 6 year old son.

Both vehicles have merit. The SRX is all luxury and class. The Acadia is comfort and space.

In your position, I'd go with the Acadia. Kids make messes. My son is 6 now, and I'm still quasi-nervous when he gets into the SRX. (What's he tracking on his shoes, etc?) I'm less concerned in the Acadia - there's more room in the 2nd row, for instance, so his feet aren't on the back of the driver's seat. The cargo room is fantastic also -- even more useful than a Tahoe, since the 3rd row folds flat.

The Acadia is our workhorse. It's been fantastic, and I'd happily buy another one tomorrow. The SRX is great, but having both stablemates gives us everything I could ask for.

I just sold a a 2004 Acura MDX that I bought new. I replaced it with an Acadia Denali. The MDX is an OK vehicle, but I much prefer the Denali. Yes, it is a little bigger and for me that is good. We just returned from a golfing trip to Jekyll Island with another couple. Three sets of clubs and all luggage for 4 people. The Acadia has same behind 2nd row seat the same space a Tahoe.

I would go with the Acadia or Buick. I'm in the process of having to trade my 2013 SRX because there isn't enough leg room for my family. I'm 6'1" and my 18 month old cannot sit behind me in a front-facing car seat. A rear-facing seat definitely won't work for behind me. The cargo space is great though, back seat is my problem. Bummer because I love my SRX!
