1993 Fleetwood Brougham Back Glass Replacement Vinyl roof

Hello everyone,

I am brand new to the forum.

Long story short - finally found a back glass for our '93 Brougham but now I cannot find anyone to install it because of the vinyl top!

Any suggestions? The one and only place I did find wants $800 to do the install.

The vinyl top is in excellent condition do I really don't want to remove it. Is there some way that I can cut around the window opening in the top, install the glass, and then glue down trim or something else?

Try talking to an interior/upholstry shop. They may be able to help with the vinyl top

I agree. Get the top shop to peel back the top, and have the glass guy come do the window there.

Thanks guys. Talked to an upholstery/auto glass place today. Ballpark estimate between $350-$450 to install a $50 back glass. I understand that it is a labor intensive job and with all due respect to the shop, I just can't afford it.

After much research, it looks like the "vinyl" top ( more like a fake rag top) was glued on to the sheet metal roof from the inside, through rivet holes.

You'll probably find with the age of the car if they can peel the vinyl roof back to do the window it won't look that great once it's back together and you'd have been better off replacing it.
