Greetings All,
05 escalade has following after market add-on - one for each headlamp

Vorschaltgerat
Zenon-Licht 12v
5DV 007 760 - 39 on left headlamp (5DV 007 760 - 15 on right headlamp)
996 631 183 00
D2S D2R 2000H
Hella

When the left headlamp went out - took to the dealer and they said it is after market and blowing fuse - they replaced the fuse (10amp) and it worked for a week and the fuse was blown again.

How would I get this fixed. Don't know who installed it (I am the second owner of the car).

I am thinking, if I couldn't get this fixed, may be revert back to the standard headlamps by removing the above zenon unit

does anyone know how much these zenon units costs ?

Thanks
SJ :bouncy:

PS - Great forum - I just made a small donation for its maintenance

The 05's came with HID's standard, these are the headlights right, not the fog (driving lights) right? They should have more than a 10 amp fuse IMO

Hi Carl V.,

When I face the vehicle - there are two lights. The top one is the low beam that is normally on when I drive. The bottom one is high beam. The top one uses the following bulb

PHILIPS GERMANY
D2S 35W 85122
E1 IN A CIRCLE 03V DOT E121

The first owner of the vehicle had put in the following after market device on the low beam (top lamp) - this rectangular device takes in the two lamp wires and then output through a thick cable into the philips bulb mentioned above.

Vorschaltgerat
Zenon-Licht 12v
5DV 007 760 - 39 on left headlamp (5DV 007 760 - 15 on right headlamp)
996 631 183 00
D2S D2R 2000H
Hella

I took it to the dealer - he says it is after market and they don't know how to fix it.

Thanks
SJ

So you are saying the first owner replaced the stock HID's with the HID's in the truck now, according to your post they are both D2S bulbs, without a pix it's tough to see what is going on. Where are you located?
