Hey all-

I am in pursuit of yet another set of rims. This time, I was thinking about going with some 18" Z06 rims in gun metal to match the color of my 04 silver smoke.
Does anyone know if they make Z06 rims to match our bolt pattern?

I personally like the style and knowing its an OEM part, I am confident that they will be lightweight and ready to take a beating.

The reason why I need another set is because I will be leaving my hometown to go to medical school next fall. And if I am stuck someplace where it snows or has huge potholes, my 20" DUB's won't be coming.

If you're talking Corvette '01 - '04 Z06 rims, you should know that they are 17" x 9.5" up front and 18" x 10.5" in the rear. Because of the width, I don't think you'd really want to run them in any kind of snow. I don't remember the details, but these rims may also be too wide for the CTS. You should search some past threads for discussions of the widest wheels that will fit.

Vett rims will not fit.. good idea tho.. not even the F-Bodys will fit as the CTS has really screwy bolt pattern.

I think the Z06 wheels are 5x120. The CTS is 5x115 so it won't bolt on.

Going to med school next year? I'm in the same process right now. Any idea where you will end up?
Small world, huh? I'm either on this forum or studentdoctor.net.

I have no clue as to where I'll be, I submitted secondaries to almost all the california schools and have a total of 36 schools completed and pending interview. I have two interviews at the end of the month (NYMC and VCU).

I really want to stay in cali, but heck, I ready to go to the damn carribean to get my MD!

As for the rims, I found out about the whole issue with the bolt pattern like 30 seconds after posting that thread. I like the rims, but I guess I will have to find something that looks similar from the aftermarket.

I'm not sure where you park , but parking your dubs in USC is not an advisable thing. As, many a rim have been known to dissapear at that university and the surrounding neighborhood ;)

Which is why I stick to san diego.

We gave those trojan's a run for their money last season, and they were our only loss too- so CAL is up there PJ!

Either way, I'd put aside my Berkeley pride if those Trojan's down at USC show me some lovin with' an interview or better yet... an acceptance!

PJ-you an USC alum?

:hmm: Additional information. The XLRs, Corvettes, Camaros, and Firebirds all use the same bolt pattern and I believe offset.

I guess wheel locks may be a way to prevent wheel theft, but at the same time your whole car may "disappear" in that case.

If I am anyplace other than UCI (Newport) or UCSD, the DUB's will come off. I lived in Berkeley for 4 years and having low profile tires and nice rims is just a disaster (I got the rims after graduating and moving back to the suburbs). With all the potholes and tight spots in the city, you really utilize the sidewalls.
