There's several junk yards in this area but NONE have Cadillac's from 2012 up. They have boat loads of 2010 and below but nothing else. I've been looking since last December and nada! Isn't that strange?

not really - if you think about it -
consider how few cars Cadillac actually sold 10 years ago -
the days of Cadillac selling hundreds of thousands of cars per year are LONG GONE -

the best selling Cadillac car only sold a few tens of thousands -
and an 8 or 10 year old car that still runs probably won't get junked -

Cars last longer. Pretty much all that is.

Not like the 90s and early 2000s where these cars would get a death sentence from a coolant leak because somebody thought it was the head gasket and didn't want to sink thousands to repair it.

I also wonder where all the Volts/ELR's go to die. Haven't seen any of them around either.

They aren't dying. Super reliable little cars. Every customer I know with a Volt was very happy with it. My GM's wife drove one for 3 years and her MPGe gauge showed over 100.

regarding the ELR -
total sales numbers -
2014 = 1310
2015 = 1024
2016 = 534
2017 = 17
you're surprised you can't find a bunch of them in the junk yard?

The ELR was intended to be limited production from the get-go.

They're great used deals now though.

About how much do you think the seat out of a wrecked XTS is worth? I want to make an office chair and I finally came across a 2014 XTS at a local junk yard. Unfortunately it wasn't Pick n Pull and they wanted $350 bucks for it. At Pick n Pull you can get it for about $50 or so and I was prepared to go as high as $100 for one in excellent shape but $350??? That's ridiculous!

I agree - $50 to $100 would bean OK price for an office chair project -

so - do you really NEED the seat from a 2014 XTS?
or could you find another luxury car seat for your project?

now consider THIS -
you have a 2014 XTS in absolutely BEAUTIFUL condition -
EXCEPT for the seat - which is ALL messed up - really nasty - for whatever reason -
and you found one - in EXCELLENT condition - for ONLY $350 -
you MIGHT consider that to be the deal-of-the-century -

two different uses for the same seat -
one guy put the value as high as $100 -
the other guy thinks $350 is a steal -

Yeah I guess if you needed it for you car you might be willing to pay that price. I've seen some on eBay for $150 but there was also shipping charges so that's out. I would like one from a 2013 - 2017 sedan. I have a feeling it's going to be a long time before I find one though.
