But I think this is a new one, as I couldn't find anything after using the SEARCH function....

I just bought a 2008 CTS without Navigation. How feasible is it to install just the OEM Nav screen (only bothering to hook up the power wires), and install an aftermarket GPS and rear view camera so that their feeds display on the screen?

It is actually easier than you think, if you have a bit of automotive knowledge. I did this exact thing 2 years ago, but have since removed it in favor of a "Tesla style" Android head unit. I'll sell my factory nav unit for a good price, PM me if you're interested. You'd still have to have it programmed to your VIN and buy the wiring harness. See here https://www.gm-navigation.com/ for more info. You wouldn't use an aftermarket GPS, an OE antenna is included with the harness. As far as cameras go, you can install an upgraded version of the OE one (https://www.dormanproducts.com/p-87279-590-082.aspx), but you'd need the factory harness in the trunk for it. A better option might be to use a suitable aftermarket camera like this https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N8YXTN1/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1. I just replaced my OE camera with that one and it works very well. I especially like the ability to remove parking guides and adjust the image up/down/left/right using the built in controller.

Also, I am unable to PM, but I am interested in your factory Nav Unit. Can you PM me?
