Yes, I got my custom exhaust! (pics!)

Yesterday I drove 2 hours to Holland to get my custom exhaust system installed by EPS. Initially I wanted a cat back system, Camaro) exhaust tips like Stealth had. But we tested them too on the bare pipes for loudness. They are like trumpets, so we decided not to install them either.

Anyone interested?

We did several sound tests with the bare pipes cut off, the Magnaflow tips and different mufflers. I made films of it, but I need to load them on to a site somewhere.
So, we decided for round mufflers and brushed tips. No modification of the cutouts in the bumper needed. Thats another advantage over the Magnaflows, so there is no risk in case I need to change it back to stock.

At least I got the pictures ready for you. Enjoy!:

- The old system. As you can clearly see it was all rotten and needed replacement badly :D

- Off they go! I kept them in case they need to be reinstalled when I sell the car again.

- One side put in place...

- One side ready!

- Two sides ready!

- bzzzzz... down to earth

- Outside...

- From below...

I am very excited about the result! The tone is very low but not to loud inside. I dampened the trunk area a little more in the spare wheel well and the back of the seats to keep the noice out of the cabin.
I definately get more head turns now; for looks and for sound!

Sorry, the only film I got with these mufflers was before installation. They were also doing some work in the background that made a lot of noice, so you can't really tell...

Here's with the bare pipes and the Magnaflow tips to compare...

The guy next to me had his exhaust customized on his '79 Pontiac Grand Am Formula. I was surprised to see a single exhaust, but it seems to be a one year only turbo version

He had a Y junction made to have a dual exhaust in the back. The muffler is quite small in comparison, but he wanted it louder as the turbo quiets it down already...

Can someone tell me how to make that youtube work in the post?

In the "reply" screen, click on the little "you Tube" icon in the upper right. You will see. Insert the YouTube image code inbetween the two sets of brackets. The easiest way to see this is to go to a post that has a youTube in it and quote it; you'll see the syntax in that post.

Than why doesn't this one work?

I love the aggressive look that exahust gives the back of the cts...hhmmm
sounds awesome!!
Thanks for the help on the YouTube thing and thanks for all the props!
By the way, I will make a new film with the installed exhaust without all that background noise.
Sounds good in the shop! What muffler/size pipe/resonator/x-pipe did you go with?
I only replaced the end mufflers to keep the cabin sound low. I will do some messurements next weekend, ok? I am in Toulouse right now...
