Just got back from Las Vegas last night and this morning I'm seeing what's been going on all week. I was almost through all the pages sourced by a search of new posts when I got that dreaded "database error" message and all was lost. I hate when that happens.
Anyway, so GM Forums is history huh? That's gonna mean a lot of new people around here. Sal, you might realize your dream sooner than you thought. Hope it doesn't turn into something like those IBM commercials though. You know, the ones where a start-up company grows too fast.
Anyways, it looks like we have some new members and even some new technical people, that's great! The more members we have, the more technical "experts" we'll need.
I see my "FTS vs. WRX STi" thread got 'jacked by some kids but that's ok. I must admit, I'm REALLY tired of this whole "pimp" thing. The "pimp-Caddy" stuff etc. is so juvenile it's ridiculous. Some guys need to get a life. Everytime I read that crap I feel like I should go out and start apologizing to women for it.
I see Bill Sadler should be getting his rear disc conversion parts any day and I can't wait to see how that goes.
I see Elvis had a hot Fleetwood right in his garage but didn't buy it? That sucks! Thought for sure we had another FOSS member. ;)
I see Toomanytoys is still strengthening his Fleetwood. A 14.3? Nice ET Bill. I'm sure the 13's are only a couple more paychecks away for you. ;)
There was obviously much more that happened this week and I'm sure I'll track it all down. It's good to be back, I love keeping up with all the goings-on here.

Welcome back Kevin!

I hope Vegas didn't get all your coins. Mexico was great, and I had lots of reading to do when I got back as well. I agree with you on the Pimp thing. If they want to be Pimps, let them get a crushed velvet hat and a chrome suit instead of thinking a flashey Cadillac will get it done.

Actually, I'm the only one of 4 who went that didn't lose their ass. I usually don't gamble in Vegas but this time, I was with people that gamble and I was stuck in the casino WAY more than I usually would be there. I ended up a little ahead. I was doing good a couple times in roulette, and for a while in black-jack, and let-it-ride, but eventually, it all went back to the house (and then some). Yesterday morning, right before we left the hotel (the Venitian), I sat down at a slot machine to wait for my wife (who was leaving a last "donation" at a slot machine). I put in a $20 bill and on my second pull hit for over $100! So I was smart this time, I went and cashed out IMMEDIATELY! Prior to that moment, I was down about $100, so that put me UP a couple bucks and made me the ONLY winner in the group. :D
Usually, I spend all my time in Vegas out in the desert, or at shows. THIS time, I saw NO shows and never got out of the city. :(
We were there on business (industrial fabric show), but it was WAY different than previous times (with the limousine show). Usually, it's parties, and a lot of behind-the-scenes stuff. This time, since I'm just a regular-Joe in this industry, it was kind of boring. :( I've been doing the Vegas trip every year for over 10 years and this was the worst one yet. Vegas is getting more and more expensive. And more and more crowded. That alone takes a lot of fun out of it. But not being there with the movers and the shakers was even worse. I gotta go back with just me and the wife. Then I'd have a lot more fun.

I'm still torn up about that Fleetwood that wouldn't fit in my garage, Kevin. I keep saying to myself "use your BIG head, not your little one..." anyway...

In my garage, I have one short bay that ended up being the "extra" bay for my car. In order to get it in the bay, I had to park it against the work bench and remove the inside handle from the garage door (if I didn't remove the handle, it actually hit the bumper). Ya gotta do, what ya gotta do.

I absolutely must say it started as one of the best, most informative, interesting, and entertaining threads I have ever seen. I mean it must've been a mind altering revalation to so many people when they read that you lost to a Subaru. I can only hope and pray that you will continue to grace us with such absolutely amazing threads, and I'm so very sorry I ever soiled the best thread ever.

Welcome back. I thought maybe you took Wes with you?! ;)

My dad has a garage that is 30 by 26 feet. 2 doors, we can get 3 cars in there! We use a hydrolic jack with wheels to jack up one end of the car, manuver it in the corner sideways, park the others in front of it. But I didn't see too much extra room in your garage Elvis.

That garage problem is probably my fault. The garage used to be 20' long inside. That's 240" and I only needed 225.1" to fit a Fleetwood inside.

Five years ago I connected the house and the garage. The builder put the cinder blocks on top of the old garage slab, rather than digging new footings outside the garage wall. It ate up about 16" of the old garage length. That meant a little more square footage inside the house for the same money, so I signed off on it.

What's wrong, dave? :(

I went to the venitian yesterday afternoon, and saw all the shops (that shop with that ferrari was cool), the gondolas, and all the other cool stuff.....

What was really weird to me is that you dont go 5 steps ouside the airplane terminal thing to find SLOT MACHINES!!! Plus, all those cards on the sidewalks..... Yeah, you know what Im talking about.....!

Did you go see the dancing waters at the bellagio..... I thought that was really cool........

Its only legal outside of clark county, not to say its not available........
Sounds like personal experience talkin' Brett?? ;) Clark county looks NW of Vegas on my map, isn't it legal right in the city? My future brother-in-law is in Ansterdam right now, having the time of his life in the Red Light District..........most likely. :crying: :sneaky:

Las Vegas is in Clark County. Nevada law states that any county with over 1 mil population cannot have prostitution. To my knowledge the only county that fits that criteria is Clark. So its lgal evrywhere else in NV

Yep, it is legal basically everywhere "outside" Vegas proper.
Wes, I can't believe you were right across the street!!
Sounds like that was your first time in Vegas, hope you liked it. I've been going there on business for years and to be honest, it used to be a lot nicer place even though it's got a lot more to see and do now. I love the Venetian, stayed there a couple times before. My in-laws always stay at the Mirage and they love it. I was in the Mirage casino on Wednesday night leaving my "donation" at the Black-jack tables. It IS a shame we didn't know the other was there it would've made a boring week a lot better. How long were you there? Were you there on business or pleasure? Did you go to the dam?

Is that the AAIA, or something like that? Is it a display at the convention center? Or a hotel room to room show?

We make seat covers and I'd like to see new things, materials etc...
