My wife and I bought a 2014 XTS. she drove it to work came out to go home and it was completely dead no electric power at all. Called tow truck driver said let try a jump pak. It worked got power but my dash was reading Theft mode it seems fine now but what would cause this and why does it leave you stranded. does not seem to be a good idea

Could be a miltatude of reasons. But my first guest would be a bad battery or connection.

Had that problem about a year ago. Came to find out my emergency flashers were turning on all by themselves and killing the battery. Had the switch replaced and no problem since. Maybe u have something turning on as well.

I had this exact issue (and it has been the only issue I've had with my XTS4 Premium.) Came out one morning to a car that was deader than roadkill. After a boost, I brought it into the dealer, where they changed the flasher switch.
