How was this repaired? My 2018 is doing it nowhey everyone so my XT5 2017 suddenly show up this massege about ( steering assist is reduced drive with care ) + check engine light + AC fan always on high even without ac working + cooling temperature is cold all the time

That is a terrible way to deal with a customer. A complaint like that should be taken up with the dealership owner.Local Cadillac Dealership says there is no code and cant fix it. When i showed the service manager the code on the service bulletin it made very an gry and he threw me out told me not to come back.

Now sometimes it will just go away and the air come back on temp gauges work etc. I live in Florida and drive once a week one way 125 miles to Moffit Cancer center and need air after chemo. I have the same exact issue. 2 days later everything is fine. Going to dealer tomorrow however I have an onstar report that they ran and it came up with a cooling sensor failure. Did your issue reappear?My 2017 XT5 (59k miles) is at the dealership for the second full day with the exact same issue albeit with a slight difference. The same message was show on screen, the thermostat was always at the low/cold position and the air conditioner would not work. This occurred for nearly two full days and then suddenly it started working message went away, thermostat registered and the AC worked. When the service manager checked the codes he stated nothing was showing up at all. Quite concerned there is an electrical issue.

I do not understand why there is no recall of cars?Goodness, there must be a huge batch of defective thermostat unit in the supply chain!
Do you have the message displayed as in the title of this thread.My 2020 XT5 67k miles has this problem. Once I turned to the dealer for repairs, but the dealer did not want to communicate, he was busy. 04 jan 2023, i was driving and got message about transmission switched to N-position, engine stopped. I don't understand how this is possible. I stopped on at intersection. It was very dangerous.
Loaner vehicles are frequently not available since the vehicle shortage during the past year. The dealer I go to sold their service loaner vehicles because they could not get new from Cadillac. Occasionally they will provide a rental.Cadillac's customer service and attitude is just awful!
My car is being repaired. They didn't give me a replacement car, I take a taxi to work, spend about $50 every day.
Before Cadillac, I had Volkswagen and Kia, there is something to compare.

There is Service Bulletin on this issue from May 2017GM TechLink did not provide much additional information, but it did include the XT5 in the list of vehicles which may have the issue.
Perhaps there will be a Service Bulletin, but at least we have additional acknowledgement from GM we can use when talking with dealers.
