Hi,
My 2018 XT5 with 17000 M on the odometer sounds like a diesel engine when cold on idle speed. The mechanics at Cadillac here in Sweden said they cant hear any such noice. I do.
anyone out there have any experience on the same?

If the engine in your vehicle uses VVT (Variable Valve Timing) that can cause rattles and odd noises when cold or at slow speeds. Use the correct engine oil specified for your particular engine and religiously change the oil and filter BEFORE the recommended time/mileage.

It could be your accessory belt tensioner. Drop a few drops of olive oil on the accessory belt and see if the noise changes. Do not use belt dressing...you will ruin your belt.
