I just dropped my one-month old XT4 at the dealership to investigate pronounced vehicle shuddering. Initial diagnosis is a transmission problem. Is anyone else experiencing this, or any other issue, with the new XT4?

Re: Cadillac XT4 Quaity

Only thing I have noticed so far and have a question on is when I come to a stop (like at a stop light) warm air immediately starts coming out of the A/C vents (very noticeable in Fl) and then when the car shutters (assume the engine is turning off) cooler air (not cold like when the A/C is on), starts coming out.

FYI-called up the service dept and they told me this is normal. The compressor cuts off before the engine does-hence the warm air out of the vents. Obviously can disable this "feature" if I want.

I do not have too much faith in these 4 cyl. engines. Seems like they are over burdening these little engines. I follow numerous forums and there are many problems with them. I have a Equinox with the v-6 and have nearly 100 k with no major problems(knock on wood). Was looking at new Equinoxes and only engine avail. is 4 cyl. Guess I will have to keep my vehicle well maintained!!

I bought a first year ATS (2013) and was told a lot of stuff why things worked they way it did (especially with CUE). Then I bought a 2014 ATS and discovered it had many of the same problems so I was able to say both cars have the same problem so I know it's not just my imagination or only a problem only with that car.

And no I am not buying a 2020 XT4 so I can do the same with this car.

I've had mine a little over a month with about 1000 miles and couldn't be happier. No issues, squeaks or creeks. Very responsive engine that seems to have more than enough power and the transmission works great. The only complaint is the brake peddle seems a little spongey. I heard that was due to a electro-mechanical system vs a regular hydraulic system. I'll update again at 10k-15K miles

I just bought my XT4 Sport FWD on the 24th. I drove it to NJ from South Carolina, After 3 days, My Father went into the hospital in Margate, Fl. Now I am back in South Carolina. I have 3400 miles on my XT4 with no problems. The highway mileage was 32 mpg, much better than I expected. The only negative was that in Florida with local traffic and a light every mile or two, my mileage dropped to 18 mpg. I believe it was because of the 4cylinder turbo which I believe is not that efficient at a lot of stopping and going.

I love the car, especially CarPlay, but the Nav system works very well with the Heads Up Display. I also learn all the functions of the knobs and buttons on my multiple trips.

Purchased May 2019, I have 2200 miles on my FWD Sport. I love the quality, ride, and driveability. I only use premium. I am also in Florida and average 18MPG in the city which for me is every day.

So far the only letdown has been the low city mileage. I have tried different premiums 91-94 and no difference. Its a gas hog ion the city. Haven't done much highway driving yet. In the grand scheme of things its a minor thing for this type and price of car and I give this car 8.5/10.

I have reported this defect of front passenger side front fender , so far Cadillac care has been reviewing my case since November 2nd,
first solution offered was a new panel ready factory painted would be replaced, now Cadillac care want to replace defective fender with locally body shop painted,
my question is will the fender paint look the same as factory finish or will it look like a used car with different shade of paint ?
please send me your thoughts

I got my new 2019 about 2 months ago and I love it but, I too have a problem with the quarter panels at the headlight top where it curves and meets the sheet metal between hood and fender, on both sides the paint has chipped off exposing gray medal. I showed the dealer when I dropped off for other issues and the dabbed it with touch up paint and not very well. I'm a bit concerned.

I have multiple paint chips around headlights. Dealer said there is not a permanent fix available but if you look at all new 2021's they have put a piece of clear rubber tape on the top of the headlight housing where the hood touches it. It doesn't look very good as the tape bunches up. See attached TSB. Everyone, look at your car closely at all seams where front end touches the rest of the car and report any issue you see where there is not a gap and reference this TSB and get it logged into your dealer system.
