Xm radio - XMD1000?

Looking at installing XM in the car (I already have a audiovox xpress unit). Anyhow, ive got a XMD1000 unit box and am curious if I can use it and follow the same steps from the cadillacfaq topic?

Any ideas?

The XMDGM100 is the interface between the XMDirect tuner and the GM class-2 serial data bus. The wire harness will be the issue. You can get a dedicated kit for the CTS, or if you're handy with splicing wires, you can retrofit the generic GM kit to the CTS. The only difference is that "Radio's and More" makes a nice CTS specific adapter harness. In reality, you only need to use 6 of the wires, and can splice the generic XM harness into the appropriate CTS wires to the radio. It's not as clean, but it will work.

I dont have the GM100, I just have the XMD1000 box, will it still work
Nope. You need the GM interface box. The kit basically incudes the tuner, the antenna, and the interface.
