Hi all,

I just got an 06 STS with nav and Im trying to purchase an XM subscription for it. I tried searching this forum to find the XM Radio ID (needed to sign up,) but "XM" and "ID" are too short. I also could not find anything on xmradio.com about where to get this information.

Can I find it in the nav unit somewhere? Thanks for your help.

Just thought I would share another great experience with XM. I have three radios on the system. Two of the packages are on the car radio and I have one portable. The last two years I got the $77 deal on one radio and paid quarterly for the two others. In February, I received a letter indicating the additional radio fee was increasing unless they were put on a one year deal. Therefore, I paid for the two addtional radios one year in advance. Last week I got the wife a new CTS. Since I am in the process of disposing one vehicle, I transferred the service to the CTS. The transfer process took two phone calls and an hour of my time. To top things off I got a bill in the mail yesterday for $15 for the transfer fee and $2 for the invoice, the total bill was $19 (not sure how 15+2=19). When I called to complain they said this was a new charge implemented in April as part of the Sirius deal. I told them this was a bunch of crap since they have not notified users of this charge. Also, this was not part of the agreement I agreed to. They did remove the charge, but said I would have to pay this the next time.

I think this is really poor business to attempt to get customers into longer term deals then charge three months service for a change. If I had not got hooked on this service I would cancel and ask for my money back. I would suggest more of us call and complain. That's my rant for the day

The "ZWINBACK" promo gets you the full XM stuff for $77/year. No "best of" service but I'm not a Howard fan, anyway. You also get the online XM, too. This is the $140/year package so it's a good deal, I think.

Hi All,

I purchased an 06 DTS 2 weeks ago. I've read through all the replies here but they are from May/09. Does anyone have a recent promo code and know where to I use it?

I went to the xmradio site and started the purchase process. I stopped at the "give us your credit card number" page. No promo code field up to that point. So, I'm wondering where I enter it.

Please advise, thanks..........DTSdude

I don't know the answer to your question DTSdude and I'm sorry that I'm jumping over your question but I just have to ask:
Is everyone here really satisfied with the quality of XM? Ever since I heard it in my car, I've been extremely disappointed. My best comparison is to that of streaming internet radio at no more than 56kbps. And when listening to talk, I compare it to AM radio if it were in stereo. I don't even listen to XM much because the "digital quality" disgusts me. Lack of low frequency response and devastatingly pixelated highs.
On the other hand, the programming is great. Very unfortunate.
Anyone else relate to this?

It's not like it used to be. Not so much because the quality of the audio, but the COMMERICALS !! I'm so sick of listening to my 80's on 8 station, only after 2-3 songs have played, and some guy comes on and starts asking "Are you a man and find yourself waking up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom" or something like that. Those prostate/frequent urination adds are really starting to piss me off. Right now I have my XM radio for another month for free. They said if I liked my 3 months free trial then I have have XM for $77 a year plus tax. I think I will pass even on that great deal. The commercials, and everytime I go under a small bridge/somewhat thick foliage, the signal cuts out for a good 5-15 seconds. I'd just rather stick to me old-preset radio stations on FM.

I know what you mean, today as I was listening the ad "plastic surgery" vs "skin cream" came on and it kinda puzzled me. I was like, wait a minute this is XM radio.....there should not be any commercials like this on it after all that's what the subscription pays for!

I'm currently using the free 3 month trial however I don't think I will be renewing it.

Call them on the phone, and tell them you have the "ZWINBACK" code on a postcard and want the $77 dollar deal.
