Despite these things being on the market for a while, I had never actually seen one of them on the street until this last week, and I was astounded at how good-looking it was. All the pictures and
vids don't do the car justice - it is truly a knockout. What a drag to have applied this styling to such a specific - use vehicle, and with a price point making it unobtainable to so many potential customers - incentives notwithstanding.

So my friend loves the ELR and there's one that's been sitting in the dealer lot since last April which is insane. The dealer slashed the price by $22k and it's still there. We have that $7,500 rebate and $2k GM loyalty which brings the cost of the car before taxes to about $40k which is outrageous! The dealer wants it off their lot so bad he let my friend borrow the car to drive around for the weekend; crazy! He's loving it if course, I would.

Plus we did research, and another lot has a used ELR for $45k.

This car is really nice, better than the Tesla in my opinion. I own 2013 ATS and I want to also buy an ELR, especially if I can get it for $40k, omg.
I recently received my silver ELR, lease special, 5k down, 496/month....to be my daily driver...I bought 2014 Corvette Stingray last June, surprised at how many people say they prefer the looks and styling of the ELR over the Stingray!!....performance wise its obviously apples and oranges, but both fun in their own ways...if your waiting to buy, pull the trigger, you wont be disappointed!!

Good shopping, although Ive yet to see the Eller in person, its nice you find it beautiful.

I do agree the car is far superior to the crappy coal fired, rich mans hot rod Tesla. Which is only profitable because they sell forced carbon credits to car manufactures that are required to buy them . Of course those manufactures pass on those costs to buyers of legitimate auto's of which the eller is one. IIRC Tesla gets about 12K per vehicle sold.

It would be nice if from time to time you keep us posted on how the car performs and if there are problems. ( probably not) anyway good luck ands congratulations on buying smart .

I love the car though that back seat... I don't even think a toddler would be comfortable back there. Haha That ELR is super nice in person. If you're in California, I think Fremont Cadillac in Northern California still has one in their showroom. My friend who bought it is worried about Cue and I'm like dude, you own a Honda civic. There's going to be a learning curve. Anyway, if you want to see the ELR, call around some local dealerships and see if they have one. Or if you go on business trips, you might find one at dealers there to check out.

If you use your back seat a lot, this is not the car for you. However, the front seats beat any sedan by a country mile. And doesn't matter how hard I try, I always seem to use the front seat when I drive ;)
I actually use the rear seats quite a bit with two friends of mine who join my wife and me on frequent trips. But they're only 5'3" and 5'6", so that's probably why our friends are so comfortable back there. They love having bucket seats in the back.

I actually found the Volt's backseat more "offensive." A four door sedan that has the backseat of a 2+2 bothers me; it was a lot more cramped than it should be given the extra doors.

I climb in the back seat of mine every day to strap in a 20 month old in a rear facing carseat in the passenger side rear seat.

People see me digging the baby into and out of the car and they think I am crazy. But it is well worth it, he loves being back there and having that huge rear window to look out of.

My almost 5 year old son loves riding in the back seat on the way to school as well. And my 9 year old son rides in the front passenger seat with a booster so the air bag does not engage, he thinks the car looks really cool, like a space ship inside!

So almost 50 year old, lugging around 3 boys in a 2 Door 2+2 Coupe, yeah people look at me like I am crazy. I am and I love it!
