I would buy it used, from an American dealer/person. I believe disproportionate outsourcing is the #1 reason our economy is shrinking. Fair trade=more money, jobs, and Cadillacs here.

I wouldn't buy a Chinese Caddy, but I would buy a Chinese Buick. They get all the cool Buicks, we get crap in this country.

I can say with about 90% certainty it would be no. It would have to be very, very good, and I just don't think that a Chinese firm can make a car of the quality I'd demand of it. Certainly wouldn't while there are viable American alternatives.

Judging from the ethics (or lack thereof) displayed by some Chinese automotive firms in the recent past, I highly doubt I would buy a Cadillac if the company were to be bought by the Chinese.

IIRC in China they have the option of having a long wheel base version of the STS while we do not.

The SLS is only available in China and the Middle East (built in Shanghai), has more standard options then our STS, as well as an interior that exceeds the regular build quality of most Cadillacs.

In terms of luxury, its really the best thing Cadillac currently has to offer.

That rear seat reminds me of a 1990 Seville STS I used to own. It too had the full lenght console and two buckets in the rear, kind of looked like a private jet in the back seat.

back in 2006

You must post pictures of this. I have NEVER seen a Seville like that which makes me think it was a custom job and I am curios to see what it looked like.

Rear seat buckets are SO awesome. What's 100mm, appx, 5" -- the current STS is in desperate need of that. As far as the dash goes, I'm not seeing a huge difference in that and the current STS.
