Most of you know the history on my Eldorado, and know that ive yet to experience an over heating episode, and stay on top of maintenance. I'm thinking of taking a drive from Pasco, WA to Sacramento CA. Would it be safe to do so?

I've recently did a coolant flush, oil change, new brake, new rotors, new drums, new tires, brake system flushed and bleeded. New spark plugs and cables.

I've recently taken it on a drive for a 6 mile stretch at 82mph and the temp gauge didn't go past TDC. it starts up fine every morning even when it's 10f out.

If N*Caddy can start in Toronto (?) and drive a 1997 STS 10,700 miles counterclockwise around the U.S. in 17 days, you certainly can do that hop, skip, and jump.

Yup, Toronto-LA-San Francisco-LA-Key West-Toronto

Bonneville right in the middle after first top speed pass

Monument Valley

Santa Monica Beach south of Sunset Blvd, north of Santa Monica pier

Sequoya National Park California (elev. ~8000 ft at the base of the trees)

San Francisco near the south end of Golden Gate

Daytona beach on the other end of the Continent

You couldn't tell I love California didn't you?
There's nothing better for the car than 750++ miles in a single day at 85+MPH (Texas speed limits are AWESOME!). But California is by far the best and most beautiful place in the world...some day hopefully sooner than later!

Now I do have a small idea :stirpot: of shipping the car to Europe and doing that too, unfortunately shipping takes about 1 month each way...and I need the car meanwhile. But who knows...

BTW Vincent my car has more miles than yours...

Vincent i saw you said something about atempted your HG project ?
does this mean the HG's are bad you did not get them doen or you just didnt do them yourself ?
this is worrysome for a road trip in my apinion if you attempted it and it sounds like that maybe you mean to say when you did it
but not sure

if the HG's are bad im not so sure id go on a long road trip without AAA premier and cash to fix it on the road or have it towed further then aaa would pay

so if HG's are bad then i woudlnt go unless your ready with cash to have them doen

Well my car failed a block test, ive purchased the Studkit, and tried to do the job myself but lacked the consistent help. im not sure how bad the leak is, im thinking of getting a leak down test done to confirm for sure.

I tough you did the test and was blue and you believed that's a failed test, I may mix up CF members (I know it was about a '97 Eldorado from the West Coast).
Kind of related...
I may actually do that cross Europe trip this summer, unfortunately the only car I have available in Europe for use is a Diesel Peugeot 207...kind of difficult to swallow coming from a Cadillac. The other option is ship the Cadillac to England...more attractive but more expensive. I would love to open it up in Germany.
