Depends on what kind of shape it was in. Sounds like it was probably used as a limo or nice taxi. It's probly in decent shape. Check it out. You know the tranny has been rebuilt AT LEAST once, most likely twice with that many miles. The suspension may be very worn also. The motor is probably getting tired at that point, though I do know of a 450k (ish) limo that runs great, so...

I'd just go check it out.

Sal,
Hate to say it but it MIGHT be one of my old cars. I see it's silver, but they don't say what color interior.
If it's got blue interior, it's guaranteed one of mine.
Either way, I would only take one with that kind of mileage for parts. The car is DEFINATELY run into the ground. They were when I sold them a couple years ago at 200K-250K miles.

That's kinda cool that you can say it was guaranteed to be one of yours if it's silver with a blue interior. :p I called but got some little girl on the phone that didn't know when the owner would be back.. I left my number on his voicemail so I'll see what happens. I may just go look at it to see what the story is... That's a lot of mileage.. I wonder what it could look at. If for no other reason, I'd like to see how it held up...

If you look at it and its in good condition, and you could get it down to 2000, Id drive it until it dies...... Parting out the body pieces (if their in good shape.... decent paint, no dents or rust) could let you break even....... I bet overall youd break even, maybe even make something just by parting it out..... I could be mistaken..... But it would be nifty to say you have a car with 300k miles that DRIVES!!!

I'd offer the guy $1500 for it and be ready to walk away if he won't take less than $1800! Too many miles for much more than that I.M.O.

One reason why I'm relatively sure it's one of my cars is that the last couple years for the Fleetwood, they didn't offer Platinum. We had to pay extra for it as a special deal with Cadillac. And on top of that, I still had to paint the mirrors and door handles when they came in because those items are ordered in color from the supplier and NOT painted with the rest of the car. It always looked kind of goofy having a couple car carriers full of silver Fleetwoods with black mirrors and door handles.
Oh yeah, I forgot. You could probably MAKE money by parting it out since the last gen Fleetwoods are so rare and hard to get parts for.
