Hi guys,
recently i went and took my cadi. in 2nd gear and for a little WOT, didn't red line the rpm but around 4000 rpm top. it went good for the first 15 minutes of driving and it did blew some smoke from the pipe, then after i took the exit on the highway on the ramp i notice the temp needle keeps creeping up to a point i have to pull over to the side and let it cool, i got out of the car and steam was coming out from the coolant resv. tank, and coolant is all around the tank, i opened it carefully and found i lost almost all the coolant in it, WTH !? didn't blew any hoses but where did it go?
In the next couple of days i keep experiencing overheating problem even with regular street driving to the point before right before the DTC displays an alert, then i took out the thermostat, found some crap sitting right on it, replaced the thermostat, check the hoses, and cleaned the resv. tank, there was some dirty stuff came out of it. refill with correct coolant and see how it goes. It still over heats.... So i took out the STANT thermostat again and make sure it is seating correctly, refill the coolant with the resv. cap off ,cold engine idle, this time i took my sweet time to just let it run and let the air trap in the system comes out, and let the engine warm up at first there was no action, after a little time given the coolant in the resv. tank start to kind of like gurgle and moving real fast, level raised too, i can feel air is trying to pass through the little by-pass hose too, engine warmed up, i guess that's when the thermostat opened. Couple minutes later coolant looks peaceful, level dropped, i filled it up to the correct level, steady stream comes out of the by-pass hose, both fans do work, put the resv. tank cap on and see how it runs. It hasn't overheat in a week, even in warmer weather and AC on, the hottest it went is about 230~235 today in heavy traffic with AC on.
So..... i don't know what's what right now, any suggestions Plz. ?!
