I just had the drivers side shock replaced on my 06. It was under warranty since I have 42K miles. So was this just a defective shock or is anybody else have problems with these shocks. Also should I go ahead and replace the passenger side shock. I have always heard to replace the shocks in pairs. Using the part number on the service sheet I found out these shock are reasonable at $57 from gmpartsdirect.

Interesting. I paid somewhat more for these KYB gas strut inserts:

The replacement of these struts (at 120K miles) was a piece of cake.

Thanks for that link. That should help in the future. I have decided not to replace the other shock for now. Probably just replace all 4 at the same time down the road.
