ebay, salvage yards, etc

I'm still looking for one for my '79. I talked to a local salvage yard and was told they don't sell them. If they come across one, they keep it in case they need it. :rolleyes:

never quite understood the locking of fake wire wheels. who would want them? somebody 'splain it to me.

many/most full size fwd GM's wore them -
those were around $150 - EACH - to replace -

True. I had a Buick Electra (1984) and a Park Avenue (1989) with them and couldn't wait til one fell off or got stolen so I could justify different wheels.

They were probably more to keep them on and losing them than theft prevention.

They are pertty elaborate for a hub cap though.

They were stolen off of my mother's '90 Seville. And this was only a few years ago, not even in a time that they were in style.

But no, they're not just for theft protection. These hub caps won't stay on at all without the locking bolts.
