I have noticed that when driving on the freeway (or even at highway speeds), my wipers will occasionally sweep way too far to the left... other swipes are normal, then there may be a swipe or two that is too far to the left again. Any suggestions? (Car is a '91 DeVille).

Thanks!

Thanks. I will check that. I do know that according to some paperwork in the car that the wiper motor itself was replaced only about 30,000 miles ago at the dealer, but that was in 1998. The car only has 63,000 miles, so I cannot imagine the wipers have been used that much to wear out the linkage already, but you never know. Everything else on this car seems to have given out despite the mileage, such as struts, wheel bearings, etc... things that I thought mileage would take more of a toll on that age.

Thanks!

Yeah, the linkage SHOULD NOT be worn at that age, BUT.......................................

Try turning the wipers on and kill the ignition at mid swipe. The get out and see just how much play you have in the wiper arms.
