On my 96 deville the wipers are pretty slow to go across the window. My wipers in my cavalier are faster then these. Is it a characteristic of the car or it the motor going bad? Also when I would use the mist setting it would swip the windshield twice, not it only does it once.

That doesn't sound right. It should wipe more than once. So it isn't a characteristic of the car. Wiper motor...maybe.

I am a dinosaur so don't have specific information but have seen permanant magnet DC motors whose magnets are glued inside the motor housing. Sometimes the glue fails and the motor turns slowly and draws extra current. could be what you have going on there. Get it looked at as it can fail anytime if this is the case.
