I have a brand new pair of 2009 CTS wipers I purchased and ended up not needing when the decision was made to buy a 2014 CTS. Here is what I don't get. The '09 GM part number on the '09 wipers are 15890062 and 15890064. They are about 21.5" and 18" respectively. If you put those numbers in an internet search they will be listed for both '09 and '14 models. So I measured my new 14 CTS wiper blades. They are 17.7" and 24.6" respectively. But drivers side is longer than '09's 21.5". The part numbers are also different, listed as #23144359 and #23144358. It looks like I could use the short one but not the long one that is 2" shorter. Anyone able to clear up this confusion?

That is a good question. Here is what I did find out by checking E-Bay. For those on the site selling OEM wipers the small size wiper apparently fits both 09 and 14 models. [they sell individual wipers] The large wiper is shown as "not compatible" most likely because 09 is 2" shorter. Of course that does not prevent other sellers from claiming it will fit because it probably does if you don't mind a blade that is 2" shorter. How does something like a wiper become so confusing? The main reason a lot of CTS owners want OEM wipers is because they like the looks of that special plastic covering ontop. Of course it cost about $65 to get that look.

I am not sure if it Is still the case but the main reason many CTS owners wanted the OEM blades is for the plastic cover which was unique, at least at the time. Of course no one wanted to spend $64 for them at the Dealer. It is hard to tell if the plastic covers on after market blades now have a similar plastic cover which is split into 3 hinged sections.
