Having problems with our 2010 SXR windshield wipers as they cannot make a clean sweep across windsheild without leaving a streak in our line of vision.
Have purchased twice new cadillac wipers and still have troubles with getting a clean sweep with new wipers!
Anyone come across the same problem and have any solutions? Thanks,

Do you have a coating of Rain-X on the windshield? Sometimes when Rain-X is wearing off it will make it look like your wipers are doing a poor job.

Sube is correct about Rain-X ... also it can build up on the windshield as well which might also cause those problems.

There could also be some pits or chips or contaminants on your windshield that could be causing it to streak also. You may want to take your SRX to the dealership to have them look closer at your windshield to inspect it to see what they think might be causing that streaking issue.

Note: Sometimes when the wiper blade freezes up on me I will just go through the car wash to help (unfreeze) the blade to allow it to lay completely flat on the windshield so that it can wipe streak free again. Sometimes snow or small pieces of ice can build up on the blade which can also cause the same issues too.

Do you mean that both the driver and passenger sides leave a similar streak? If it is only one side, then it is likely a problem with the glass. If it is both sides, it may be helpful to wipe the rubber part of the blades with a paper towel and windshield washer fluid to get the gunk off that builds up in normal driving. If the same problem then persists, then you may have a problem common to "beam" type blades in that the wiper arms don't have enough spring pressure to keep the highly curved blades in full contact with the windshield. What typically happens in that case is an unwiped pattern in the middle of the wipers sweep area. We see this a lot, mostly on 2007 and up Chevy and GMC pickups, but it can happen to any make and model if the wiper arms lose even a little bit of spring tension. There is no adjustment for spring tension, and if that turns out to be the problem, wiper arm replacement is the only real solution I have ever seen work.

If you still have the original blades on a 2010 model they are too old. I do not know where you live, but the hotter the climate the shorter the life span.

Here in North Florida I replace about once a y ear or 18 months.

I have gone to the Bosch silicone, beam type blades. Far superior to the original equipment.

Caddy_underwood, have you checked the "Vehicle Care" section in your owners manual for tips? If you haven't already done so, I recommend looking at the "Windshield and Wiper Blades" section on page 9-112. I've copy/pasted some of that information for you below.

"Clean the rubber blades using a
lint‐free cloth or paper towel soaked
with windshield washer fluid or a
mild detergent. Wash the windshield
thoroughly when cleaning the
blades. Bugs, road grime, sap, and
a buildup of vehicle wash/wax
treatments may cause wiper
streaking.

Replace the wiper blades
if they are worn or damaged."

As Katie's vehicle care section stated, and was absent in the above suggestions, clean the windshield glass thoroughly. Some have used Bar Tenders Friend (a powder cleanser that won't scratch the glass) or Bon Ami (again, there is a no scratch product, but beware, there is a product from Bon Ami that is more abrasive and shouldn't be used). And don't use common sink cleanser, such as Comet; they could/would scratch.
