I'm looking for a set of winter tires.
I currently have the 20" chrome wheels but I'm looking for rims and tires in 18" size.
I've found some tires at a good price and was wondering if I should go to a 235/65-18 or 235/60-18 ?
Also still looking for 18" wheels.

Check tirerack.com. They will have package options. Definitely go with 235-65-18 so you don't throw off your speedometer.

Check your Cadillac dealer. I only found one tire store that could sell me a set of 18" rims, and they wanted $230 per rim. Went to the dealer and they had 18" SRX Luxury rims for $150. They are working great.

You can often find used 18" OEM SRX rims on ebay from guys in southern states upgrading their Lux to 20".

Decent selection of all the big name winter tires at 18" SRX size. Whatever your preference. I'll avoid the religious argument and just say all the well-known winter tire brands are a lot better than the stock OEM Michelins for ice and deep snow (tho the stock Michelin are actually pretty decent for light snow, say a few inches, as stock all-season OEMs go).

Make sure to get the TPMS sensors mounted before the new tires are installed. Some new wheels don't have them.

17" rims won't fit over the brakes on the SRX Gen II.

Get some beautiful Blizzak DM-V1's. I had them, and they were awesome! (Mine on Verde Protocol machine face and black rims.)


I still have the rim/tire combo, but the shipping would probably not make it worth it.

There is no law in Canada requiring tpms sensors. I didn't bother with them for the winter tires. So when you start the vehicle you have to dismiss the tpms problem warning that show up in the middle info portion of the instrument cluster (you just hit the ok button on the right of the steering wheel.) this warning shows up every time you start the vehicle it just becomes a habit to dismiss it. Then the "I" tpms error symbol stays lit up on the in cluster as well but it doesn't bother me. One time in my last vehicle (Subaru Tribeca) we drove to New Hampshire And figured we would replace the old winter tires while there. The tires were from tirerack shipped to the installer who refused to install them with no tpms sensors. Our arguments about there being no law in Canada were no good. We ended up driving home through an ice storm with the new winter tires in the back.

Not using tpms sensors does not disable the stabilitrack or abs. At least not on our 2013.

I did purchase AC Delco TPMS on Amazon for twenty-nine bucks each instead of paying $70 each from a dealer!
