Winter Rims Without TPMS - Does It Work?

I've been switching the TPMS units from my summer rims to my winter rims, but am wondering what impact not placing the units in the winter tires would have? I would expect the warning lights on the dash, but will it impact anything else? Has anyone else done this/does anyone else do this?

Yeah, it won't pass inspection at least not in Virginia.

you will get the TPMS warning light but that should be it... the car won't act any differently

Rippy is correct light will come on and tire press will not register if your car has that option. And if you have inspection during that time they are out it will not pass.
