I traded in my '08 STS for an '11 SRX Luxury. Really like it, but have been noticing excessive wind noise starting at about 40 mph and getting louder the faster I go. It sounds like it is coming from the sunroof area and I have checked to make sure that everything is closed all the way and I can't see anything wrong from either the inside or the outside. Has anyone else noticed this or is it a problem on my vehicle?

I really enjoy the STX with the exception of the wind noise. Will probably call the dealer on Monday.

Thanks!!! John

Have someone ride with you or have someone else drive open the roof shade but not the roof and feel for air coming in or isolate the area the is generating the noise. It will be easier to get it fixed the more details you can give the dealer and ask to go for the test ride to show the technician that will be working on it. A bic lighter is some times helpful in locating an air gap whether it is air coming in or going out but be very careful and good luck.

Thanks for the reply. I am going to assume that others haven't had this issue so it is a physical issue with my vehicle that should be correctable and not a design defect in the car.... I am hoping that is good news...

Don't lose too much sleep over this one. Most people don't realize that the sun roof has all kinds of adjustments. If it's crooked or leaking air/water, it doesn't require a structural modification. All it takes is a simple adjustment. I'm not saying this to minimize your problem, but rather to alleviate your worries. One of the panels on mine was elevated maybe 1/8 of an inch on one side. I wasn't getting any wind noise at all. I just knew it was supposed to be level. They made a simple adjustment and brought it in line. Piece of cake!

I have a pinch of wind noise from my sunroof, just to the right of my overhead console, but not enough that it is annoying or that it is intrusive.

I think I have wind noise at my tailgate... It's worse when it's actually windy outside, but I crawled into the rear storage area (not while driving lol) and could definetely hear it when the wind is blowing. It's on the list when dealer does oil change next month. Watch it probably won't be windy!

Good luck with your wind noise and keep us posted!
